Default Project "LJK"

Ok guys after never doing a build thread, I decided that now is the time. This will be a slow build over the next few weeks/maybe months, depending on time. As far as parts list goes, I'm still deciding but it will have Curries and or scx width AR60s. This Jeep Brute body was built and owned by a local club member before I purchased it. Then I sold it and after a few months wanted it back. Well here it is. All the fab work is done by me using 3/16ths .035 wall DOM tubing. I will be doing all the fab and cosmetics first. The interior holes were done by previous owner and will be patched up for rear seat and or scale items.

Sanded down a bit and top removed

Getting started on the cage

After an hour or 2 or 3

Nice! You could also do xr10 width axles.

That's an idea. That's one reason I am holding off on buying parts cause I change my mind every 5 minutes. Heck, I even thought about doing full width ar60s and 2.2s, but I'm leaning more into 1.9 like always.

Looks great. What wheelbase does the body have? Do you know how much the body was shortened?

Thanks! The wheelbase will be 13" , and the body was actually stretched, due to it being a 2 door rubicon body. I believe it was stretched a little over an inch or more

Oh I thought it was a shortened JKU. LOL Either way, still looks good. I picked up a Nikko TJ body and still deciding what to do with it.

Got a little more work done on the body armor, just waiting on scale hardware to show up. Completely undecided on colors.

Man I have wanted a Nikko TJ body for awhile to match my 1:1, so that is next down the road!
