Yep, I deffo have a problem and it seems to be Yank related with all the Jeeps and F-150's I'm building (I think I need therapy...)

I won a rather tasty shell on eBay a couple of weeks ago as I'd been hankering after a slightly smaller build than my portaled 1/9th Jeep and larger than my Micro's that would use the Losi Mini Crawler or Vaterra Slickrock axles and gearbox - luckily I was able to pick up a new Slickrock as a donor!

At the moment I have the Slickrock axles, 1.9 wheels and RC4WD Mud Slingers, electrics are a CC MicroSidewinder with Hobbyking S2445-3890 Brushless Inrunner 3890kv - 12T that'll be far too fast for it and finally the body that arrived this week. Decided that the Slickrock gearbox will therefore be a little weak, so have a 1/16th Traxxas Summit gearbox coming from the US and RCX chassis rails from Rene @ rcoffroad.eu - still need to decide on a transfer case and there will be some nice upgrades coming from Shapeways for the axles.



It'll be a slow build as I need to finish off the 1/9th Jeep and parts will be slowly tricklin' in...

So, a few bits have turned up and with a bit of luck more next week!

The Summit transmission seems much better build quality than the Losi and I've found out on t'interweb that if you swap the idler and input gears around it lowers the ratio to 5:1 from 2.5:1



I don't think it'll be enough though even with the 2.18:1 transfer case and Slickrock axles (can't find the ratio on that...) but we'll see!



Also got a Dinky RC cantilever kit for the back with Hot Racing shock bodies for the rear
