Default ECX Barrage BTD Gen2 Axle Upgrade

Does anyone know of steel axle shafts for the ECX Barrage Gen2/Doomsday? I have found the axle shafts to be very weak, soft metal.

If good steel axle shafts that fit are not available, what are some decent axle alternatives that fit?

Thanks,
MP

Are they a dog bone setup? Cvd? Or uni? My 1st gen HSP/ECX 1/18 scale crawler has dog bones (same axles as 1st gen Barrage) but my 3rd gen RGT/HSP has unis. I heard someone say the doomsday had cvds.

Gen1 barrage and gen2 barrage are cvd.
Difference is:
gen1 have longer stub shaft and a wide hex.
Gen2 have longer inner shaft and a standard hex.

Maybe the v3 hsp uni shaft is the same length as gen2 barrage.

Thanks hillbilly,

I'm done with the Gen 2 kit axles, running HSP axles now. So far so good.

Where'd you find the gen3 hsp axle shafts?

He built a baroncho after having issues keeping axle shafts in the stock axles from breaking.

I have found much on the v3 rgt/ftx besides the ftx website. Its based in the u.k. so shipping will be higher to get the cheap parts here in the US.

Nope. Rgt/ftx got dog bones. ecx got cvd. The little differences between the three.
