| Taimya Toyota pre-runner
Not sure if this is the correct location, but this arrived today and I want to show it off. It was my first RC more then 20years ago and I finally found one! Had to buy it. What should I do? Old school with novak esc and brushed motor? Keen for some thoughts Sent from my LG-H870DS using Tapatalk |

Thanks mate, I can't stop smiling at it sitting in my office... I think I'm going to keep the silver can motor in it and just leave it on a shelf at home Sent from my LG-H870DS using Tapatalk |

Great find! The Toyota versions are somewhat rare. The chassis is still in production, plenty of spares out there if you want to run it though the ABS will most likely stress crack on its own well before it breaks. Very durable chassis. Body will be a bit of a unicorn though - take care with it.

Awesome find! I have always loved this color scheme. I'd suggest putting that original body on the shelf and painting up a reproduction. I recently built a Tamiya Desert Fielder which I believe used this same body, but with different decals. I got reproduction decals from MCI racing. While they aren't the best quality, they are fine for a runner. https://mciracing.ca/t/tamiya---new-layout If Tamiya is no longer making the Desert Fielder body you can get a reproduction from Team Bluegroove on eBay. Again, I wasn't impressed with the quality at all for a different body I purchased from them, but it'll do for a runner. https://www.ebay.com/str/teambluegroove |

That was my first hobby grade RC truck as well. I talked my young wife into letting buy it for a whopping $128 at a semi LHS. We were young and money was always tight, but this was my plunge into real RC. I’m definitely envious! I wish I still had mine. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk | |
