Very nice. Are these 1:1 portals? It would be nice to get some ratio portals to help with torque twist. Sent from my LG-H870DS using Tapatalk |

Beautiful! How do you like the portals? That’s some major axle beauty, Lol! It looks like the cage is silver in sone of the photos, but maybe that’s just the lighting? Would look awesome. I also like your winch mount; much simpler than the servo winch I installed on my Bomber. Did you use a custom plate bolted to the front bumper? The pickup top is a great fit - after some chopping? Which body did you start with? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro Last edited by Thloftus; 06-10-2018 at 05:49 AM. |

Thanks! The cage is painted silver. There are a TON of little hacks to make all this work together!!! The winch is mounted on washers down to the front plate...bit a lot of trimming had to happen to clear the servo. Custom link lengths and twin hammers trailing arms. The vp portals are just axle Porn. Overdrive front. More testing and details later. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I can believe there’s a lot of hacks, especially in the front! Nice solution for mounting the winch! The VP portals are sweet regardless, even if only for the porn value, Lol! I admire your willingness to drive them, I’d probably be terrified of scratches. The pickup top is a great fit - after some chopping? Which body did you start with? Did you have to do anything special to get paint to stick to the cage? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro Last edited by Thloftus; 06-10-2018 at 06:05 AM.

I love this, makes me envious, shoulda built my Bomber with Portals. I painted my bomber cage with Rustoleum X2 aluminum color paint, works great. What rear trailing arms are you using, your wheel base seems shorter, may just be because of the 1.9's. Last edited by angrchair; 06-12-2018 at 04:17 PM. |

| Re: 1.9 Bomber portal axled truggymabob Nice rig! I used twin hammers trailing arms and custom uppers. I also used custom front lengths...that I think were closer to 10.2 front links. I did a lot of monkeying. I think wheelbase is a hair over 13...maybe 13 1/8. The only thing I wan to change is clearancing my wheels a little to use smaller hubs and suck the wheels in a little. I think I could manage to shave a quarter or more. We'll see. |

How do you feel about the COG with portal axles? I'm torn over VP portals or just beef tubbing some ar44's with brass knuckles weights.

I’d say drive someone’s trx and see if you like the portals. My bronco is insane with tons of brass. I also use wheel weights. If you’re just crawling or creeping, you don’t know that they’re there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
