| International Scout/Ambush VS4-10 Killer/Tribute? Build
When the VS4-10 was originally announced. I was soooo tempted to order one. Unlike a lot of haters, I did see the value in what was being provided. I never did order one as I had a bomb proof trans, custom chassis rails, some 90 mm shocks, and proline ambush body already sitting around. And I wanted a specific tire/wheel combo. So I decided to get some 10.2 curries and make my own version. Kind of a tribute but also kinda trying to make a better vs4-10 (yes I realize without the offset front pumpkin). This will be my TTC and U4 truck so it’ll have some good power and need to be strong. I’m building the steel tube cage but using an aftermarket chassis rail and bumper (both from Al) Parts list before the starting pics 149 RC worx Al chassis rails Fishes Crawler parts skid (with 149 RC logo) SSD steel and titanium links RC4WD king special edition shocks Vanquish Currie rockjock front housing with scale knuckles. Incision AR44 universals Vanquish Currie f9 rear axle Vanquish lockers and axial 10.2 gear sets Proline Ambush body SSD Al bumper and Ox winch Bombproof trans MIP driveline Proline KM3 tires with CI foams Gearhead 5slot mags Mamba X and Team Brood vigor 3600kv Savox 1230 and castle BEC All run by my airtronics MT4 And on to the pics: (Figured everyone has seen things bolted together before so we start with fab) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Last edited by dna4engr; 07-30-2018 at 06:12 AM. |

I'm DEFINITELY not one of the Haters of the VS4-10!!! It's a cream of the crop Rig, showing what's possible when the Best a Company offers, is put all together in one Tight Rig!! Your Tribute is looking GOOD! Like the Cage work so far. I'm following this, so I can see what it becomes!! |

I would have bought the VS4-10 also, only if it was a licensed body, like a real truck

Those wheels are just gaudy. I like 'em! Hope you're planning a dark body color. |

Thanks Norm. Ever since I saw your yellow scout/ambush I’ve always wanted one. That’s why I’m so happy that proline rereleased it. Got some time today and worked on this rig. Need to get her done before the MNRCRC TTC in sept and so I can bring it to Crawlapalooza Stole the winch back off the trx bronco and remounted. The bumper is used so it will get repainted at some point. Then it was time to tackle the rest of the rear cage and get the dash set in place. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

| Re: International Scout/Ambush VS4-10 Killer/Tribute? Build Thanks Lee! I wanted this build to be a combination of built and bought parts. I have built many chassis over the years but there are things I don’t enjoy making so I sourced a lot of them for this. The chassis rails and bumper are obvious ones so far. I picked up this jevne racing battery tray from rpp. It fits pretty well even on this aftermarket chassis. However where I placed my steering servo did not allow the front left mounting point to work so I bent it up and it almost rests on top of the servo now ;) Did some more cutting and fitting of the interior One of the last things is to get the front tubing done. A couple more pieces and some trinkets and this thing will be done with fab Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Thanks for the compliment Dana. But I'd have to say yours is all about today mine on the other hand is all about yesterday's equipment with exception of tires. Its looking outstanding I can't wait to see more. |

Got the body painted with a base coat to begin the masking and detailed paint. Rear bumper is done. Cage is ready to paint also. All trinketed up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

“Final” assembly has begun. Still some things to do but the chassis is going together. Electronics installed. Not super pretty but not too bad. I was able to test drive it. Holy cow does it have torque twist. I think my trans orientation is the culprit. I stiffened the shock on that side and things improved. Adding a dlux sway bar to help too. Thanks a lot man. Wanted a little uniqueness to the tubework. She’s done now. Here’s the rest of the pics. Competed in our TTc today. The scout took home the win!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Last edited by dna4engr; 09-17-2018 at 08:19 AM.
