| Jeep Tuber Resurrection
This is my Jeep tuber that is my first scale tuber frame from about years and years ago, probably in 2009. First build, parts from AX10 included axles, I don't have any pictures from first build, but that is the pic from screenshot from my old video. Not even close to a scale build I think And this my rebuild,...ohh and the wheelbase now about 12.75".. Hopefully I can build better to make this tuber more scale. I relocated the rear shocks and not in my expectation, the rear end tend to be stiffer. Not so stiff though. Installed main parts : - Yota II axle front and rear. - Proline Interco TrXUs tires. - SSD 1.9 Stamped Beadlock. - RC4WD King Dual shock (Body OD : 10mm). Installed accessories : - RC4WD Warn 8274 winch. - RC4WD ARB Intensity LED Light, rocks light. - RC4WD PRP Seat, will be add 1 seat for passenger side. - 3D printed Dashboard with scale switch added. - 3DPrinted front and rear 4-link mounts. - 3DPrinted 6mm thick hub spacers for wheels. Below just pics of some accessories installed, Tuck in all electronics, fit nicely and hood will close. Running really smooth on rocks.. It's not done yet, will added : - Fuel cell. - Side panels. - Repaint the frame with matte black probably. Liking the new looks and runs feel good deephis46 |

Updates... Fuel cell added, using a scale hex screws to make more scale. I 3Dprinted it and painted. Also made a tiny hood pins. The 'catcher' for the pins using M3 nylon screws and drill them. It should be hold up fine as the hood little bit bend that make the pin tight fit. And also made a bend on end of the pins, it should make more secure. |

More updates... Made side panels (triangle shape beside the rock light) and side covers on below driver and passenger. Also I did try anodized the beadlock rings into red. Need some try to make good result. The red kinda little bit maroon in my eyes but if it's on bright light it's brighter. It's cool but it's not the color what I wanted Change plan on the axles, I pickup a portal axles. It's 3-link setup then I made a panhard mount and the panhard link. Btw it's used for SCX10 III. I like the way it sit with Yota axles that's lower than the portal's. So I adjusted the shocks to droop setup. |

Painted the frame, hood, cover and panels...need more couple of days to fully dry.. Frame is TS-53 Deep metallic blue with base coat Black. Hood and panels are TS-18 Metallic Red with base coat Black and topcoat Clear Red. And covers are semi gloss black. There might be changes on the front grill into semi gloss black if metallic red look to much. |
