Default Rig weight and correct foams

So my trx4 tips the scale right at about 10lbs.i have a set of crazy crawler foams but I never used them because they just felt to firm for crawling. So what kind of foams are yall running with the heavier rigs?

I attached a few photos of the tires under a normal load.

Full disclosure, I've never run Crazy Crawler foams, but foams can break in over time. The displacement you're getting in the pics doesn't look too bad. Did you vent your tires?

If it were me, I'd definitely spec a good, dual stage foam. Go check out Crawler Innovations. There is some good info on his site regarding rig weight, application and general suggestions about which foam is best suited to the application. Based on your rig's weight, I'd look at standard inners, with a firm outter in back, and a medium outter in front. Much of this is down to personal preference though and how you intend to wheel the rig. Diameter or size would depend on the tire and tire size you're using.

I did vent the tires. I think ill send the foams back. But when its time for new one I'll be looking at the ones from crawler innovations. The selection was pretty nice.

I've used the foam calculator on Crawler Innovations site for all my rigs and have been very pleased with the results.

https://crawlerinnovations.com/foam-calculator/

Typically I'll use one 'step' softer foam in the front, ie: soft outer in the front, medium outer in the rear.

Cheers,
Gable
