Default #15 Utron & IERC Merge X Evo!

As my builds get updates and my posts are absent about them, we create a new thread for yet another rig HAHA. I've had this IERC rail kit for a while now, and I'm just speaking on it as I've collected all of the parts I've had on the list, which consists of:

- Element Utron RTR (body/trans)
- IERC Merge X Evo rails/skid/crossbars/panhard mount, servo mount (laydown style)/few different size battery trays bought separately.
- Stealth XF transmission
- F10 portal axles
- Dravtech 80mm shocks (repurposed from FLEXJ40)
- Hardcore RC titanium links
- NSDRC RS800 V2 servo (repurposed from FLEXJ40)
- Hobbywing Fusion OG 1800kv
- 1/14 driveshafts
- GSpeed printed sliders
- Boom Racing TE37XD Krait wheels
- 4.75 Pro-Line BFG Krawlers (predator)

This rig will get a pretty good body slam. Hoping to have the shock towers protrude through the bed and the bed floor resting on the frame rails. According to my measurements, the front shock towers will be pretty close to the hood. Like my other trim jobs on bodies, I look to keep the same wheel arch shape and push them up as high as I can but I will cut extra off if it means no rubbing under articulation, or even enlarge the shape.

As of now, no plans for front or rear bumpers but that may change once I have the body fully trimmed up. I look to run no rock sliders as well but I do want to attempt to bend and tuck some of the lexan to act as a functional rolled rock slider (got the idea from Exocaged RC).

Gotta start the pictures with stock stuff:

Most of the parts spread:

Fully assembled and links set (both panhard/drag links are temps):

Few shots with the body sitting on the tires:

Continued 2/2

Team KNK 25% overdrive gear set went in as well as actual bearings:

Here are some modifications I've had to do to make everything fit and work properly.

Notched a section in the left rail for the transmission to fit:

Notched the right GSpeed slider for the screw where the front upper link mounts:

Drilled a hole in the very center of the mounting options (instead of 4 holes, middle 2 holes are now 1 slotted hole) for the panhard mount to cater for the F10 axle.

Summary/things to do:
- Trim up arches and bed floor/mount body
- Radiolink 4ch Rx
- New drag/panhard links
- VP brass front & rear*

That's a sweet build, nice choices! Do you prefer the Stealth XF over the vanquish transmission in the VRD Carbon? The stealth xf looks great and and motor placement looks ideal, but I don't have any experience with it.

I would love to see element make portals for the IFS kit. An IFS LCG truck would be different and rad.

Thanks!

I haven't had my hands on the stubby VFD but it appears the VFD has the motor placement lower than this Stealth XF. This transmission is built into the skid so that's already one con about it.

I like seeing people build around the xf trans. Definitely be watching.

With the body resting on the tires, the gap between the bed floor and main framing is about 20mm. Measured out 20mm and drew the lines on to radius the stock flares, keeping the similar shape of them (just enlarged). I consider myself pretty good on shaping lexan flares but I'm still dreading it.

Fenders trimmed, bed floor trimmed, rockers cut off. Just need to cut off the back, either trim most of the black off or completely.

As it sits, the main frame railing is nearly touching the bed floor. I would trim off more of the fenders (up to where the outer angled bend is), but I feel like that wouldn't be enough to clear the tires still when under articulation. And I really don't want to run smaller tires yet still keep the setup fully drooped. So I will raise the body up until there isn't any rubbing and see how I visually like it. But it just looks so good when it's this low lol...

Fenders trimmed more. Deleted turn signals and shaped that area of the body to get rid of the hole mounts.

Something told me to throw on my Probuilds from my FLEXJ40 build. Given the style, I think it's more of a modern looking wheel as well. And because this Utron is slammed, I think these have found a new home...
