Default 72 Blazer *updates 4/13*

ok guys and gals. i'm going to try and do a 10th scale version of my friends "beast". its a 72 chevy blazer. what i hope to do.

custom scale chassis-by me, whenever we get gas in for mig
tires-i need some help, going for 36"ers but high lifts would be 37's maybe
close enough. i uno yet.
rims-will decide later.
body-proline 72 c-10 and try to cap it some how.
tranny-t3, locker by a brandon
wheelbase-12" or so give or take
motor-35t or maybe even a 27t its gonna be a mudder
suspension-leaf front, 4link rear

onto the pic of his truck. i'll get some buildups asap.
lemme know what you guys think so far. and some help or opinions maybe?

For tires, I would narrow a set of Pro-Line Dirt Hawgs. If you cut out the center cestion of lugs, and "shut them, they look almost exactly like the tires on your friends K5.

My 1:1 K5 looks like this before the re-build(in progress):

got some of the welding done today in shop. the front is all boxed in and welded. and one side has the piece going down. than i started thinking. how could i mount a tlt hanger from a flat piece of 1/8x1/2" steel? bolt it to the inside of the chassis? with the spring mounted in it? i also want to do a shackle for some extra flex, could i use the bike chain links on the front? or which would be best? thanks guys.

yeh cammo its gonna be rocking tlt axles.

palo-thanks for the suggestion. i'll hit brandon up to see what we can do. and a eta. your rig looks pretty sweet too

Looking forward to seeing this one since I'm partial to 72 Blazers.
I think my next project is a 1/10th version of my old Blazer.

Unfortunately I sold it last year so I can't go out and get a good side view.I had to take a pic of an old photo.I just recently went digital so most pics of the truck are 35mm.Sorry,thats all I have.It was a Kayline top if that helps. How about this:http://www.thejeep.com/kayline/images/551-010.jpg

Hey its was my daily driver for many years.Had to drive the wife and kids around in it and yes ....to the mall also .It did see some mud and sand but not much.HOWEVER...my friend that I bought it from used it as a mudder.I got it from him and restored it.

It really did hurt, left a big lump in my stomach. But my friend that I bought it from actually bought it back from me.So I got "visitation rights" when I sold it.Unfortunately he just sold it to someone in the St Louis area. The guy bought it off Ebay, flew to Fla and drove it back.
Well at least I have the memories.
