Default project rock binder... diesel's 1968 IH scout

somebody buy my damn highlift body so i can build this ****in truck!!

so far ive got:
- a set of tlt axles with fat-rock Cs, aluminum knuckles, bearings and locked diffs. the rear will have rc4wd straight axle shafts in it. as soon as i install them
- a pede tranny with almost nothing left inside it. might replace it with a 2speed R2
- a set of maxx shafts that will need to be shortened up to fit into an 11" WB
- a quark/OG revolver brushless system
- a novak xxtra reciever for my mx3-s radio.
- traxxas aluminum long truck shocks. stampede front shocks.
- a bunch of miscellaneous traxxas links for suspension
- a hitec hs645mg servo

i still need:
- 1.9" hpi stock car wheels
- pactra indy silver paint
- a digler soft top
- 1.9" rock rings
- a servo for the winch
- savage bumpers
- roof rack
- a 2 speed R2 trans or a stealth
- lights to put on the roof rack
- sleeping bags
- cooler
- shovel
- hi-lift jack from pinchflat

im going to paint the outside of the body flat black or primer grey and paint the inside silver so when it scratches on the outside it looks real. im planning on reducing some tires and doing 1.9's or i might get lazy and use my axial 2.2s that are sitting here taking up space. they wouldnt look right on the truck though. black chrome on a primer body? no. as soon as any progress is made ill post pics and keep you guys updated.

as promised, heres the updates...

i assembled the chassis, im very ****in impressed with the MFM racing chassis from thecrawlerstore.com. its like the SW2 of scale chassis, so many possibilities, so buildable! i bolted my axles at the wheelnuts onto a couple rulers with holes drilled at 11.5" so i had my wheelbase set. then with the lower links (traxxas 5318 ) mounted on the axles i set the chassis on top of them to see where my links need to be mounted. with the lowers figured out, i addressed the top links (traxxas 5539). i had to modify the hell out of a pair of MSD servo/link mount plates to get them placed right. theyre mounted almost directly over the differentials instead of over the u-joints. with the links all taken care of i kinda mapped out where i wanted the shocks to be... i knew i wanted them pretty much straight up since theyre shorter shocks (traxxas 2660)... i filled the shocks with 22.5wt oil and im waiting til tomorrow to go buy springs for it. this rig wont be as heavy as my K10 scaler so im not sure what springs ill need for it yet. anyway enough bull****ting, time for some pics.

i made some progress today. trimmed, painted and mounted the body, threw on the 2.2s from my chevy scaler for testing, ditched the MSD "scaler" rockrings for some true scale rock rings, by taylors hobby products... PM 62PYRO about them.

ill get ****in pics up as soon as my pile of **** computer decides to let me.... **** i hate this god damn thing!

after i get the final set of wheels and tires on it ill adjust that. i cut the fenders out today just like my friends 1:1 scout. and its still empty, no tranny, electronics, winch, roof rack, bumpers, etc... itll sag some when i get all that done. i also figured out a cool way to mount the sliders, as soon as i get some tubing ill get those done.
