Default TSS Customer G55 Build

had a customer contact me wanting to build a real simple, budget, backyard basher G55 RTR.

so i got a chassis designed, we started picking out parts, and i got to ordering. well today the rails came back from the waterjet so its time to get started.

got the chassis drawn up

chassis assembled

he picked out some black HPI 5 spokes, high lifts, and a set of TSS rock rings

has the usual, pede tranny and TLT axles (was able to snag a NIB kit for him), and the G55 body.

i designed it for use with 70mm shocks which r2j doesnt carry, so i had to order them off the slow boat from hong kong, i hope they get here soon so i can get this thing to a roller.

i was able to find a complete set of 70mm shocks to use for mock up so i got the axles mounted. lower links and mock up shocks. i was able to check the wheelbase and now i can continue. next step is making the upper links. then ill probably work on the tranny, locking it, and hacking it to fit in the chassis.
heres a pic of the progress.

Looking good, I think the chassis looks great, your own design?

yep, its a custom version of my tough truck chassis series. shortened to 10.6" WB, and has the leaf mounts removed.

chassis complete. switched it over to a half droop setup to gain some more flex with this short WB.
all thats left is mounting the body and a test run

Nice build! Those wheels are an excellent choice for the body. The only other thing I'd do if it were mine would be to paint the black section of the wheels a metallic silver or a charcoal gray.
