Default Clod Bodies K2-3S Project Updated pics 12/20/07

We here is a small start to my quick Clod Scaler project. Planning a couple good builds this winter that should be nice.

Axles built with Portals. Have to grind a little to make the 1.9 beadlocks to fit.

1.9 RC4WD beadlocks. Mudslingers on the way. Have 5, so one will be a spare in the bed! Never know when you'll get a flat.

Here is a quick poser shot with the body sitting on top the chassis and the beadlocks.

Here is a Whitebone trailer that I will be towing behind it, till my other two projects are completed.

nicely done, it reminds me of a truck i LOVED on MOG axles. droooool i love your build and maybe y ou should do some 1.9 tsls from david. that would fit the body so much better IMO. and how much did that WB trailer run you? his quality seems incredible.

Trailer is awesome. I got it second hand. Good deal from a great freind. I am actually on the list for another. I like it that much. The new one will be for a 1.9 scale rock buggy!

May have to look at the TSL's. These slingers grip better than my Claws around the shop. Can't wait to try them on the rocks.

Going to have a tire holder made for the Wheel in the bed. I will probably have a stinger front bumper made too. I think I'll order a front bumper from the Scale Shop. My Winch servo should be here later this week.:-P

yes the scale shop is wicked! i have one of them bumpers but i gotta meet and give him his TJ that we are trading out for. that bumper would look sick on there and i made my own tire holder, it was really easy. its just a slanted trapezoid? made of styrene.

Not sure on color yet. Going to work on some scale items for the bed. Paint will probably be the very last thing.

Figured I would show some progress on the body work.

Going to try and do a little mod to the front hood.

Did a little mod work to the front grille. I didn't get lenses with the truck, so I made some of my own out of lexan. I am also working on moving the front bumper up. Plan is to add some LED bulbs for the working headlights.

Here is the tool box for the bed of the truck.

All the parts cut and ready.

Here is the step by step.

I have some diamond plate to cover the box when it is all glued together.

I plan to load the bed with firewood and a chainsaw with a small gas tank.

I was going to do away with the center strip all the way.

Sunroof is a cool option for the truck. It stays!

Nice job! I just quickly skimmed thru but did you mention a color? I like the blue on that "featured truck" obijuan put pics up of. I like your work. Keep it up!

I am going to do a Blue. Probably not that dark. My dad had one years ago that was a shade or so lighter than that.

Thanks!

I decided to pitch the portals and beadlocks. Going to swap the axles with some that are completly stock. The portals make the truck to wide and the beadlocks make it look to nice! I'll keep the slinger and get some HPI stock car wheels and paint them white.

I am also making delrin links for the front and rear 4 link. I am using 1/4 Black delrin rod.

More pics later this week.
