Default My first 1.9 scaler attempt

Well, after a couple off failed TA02 attempts at a 1.9scaler, I thought I would try something I am better at. Specs:

Custom tube frame by me
TLT axles
1.9 wheels yet to be decided
1.9 tires yet to be decided
gd600 into wk tranny(no spur)
mamba 25
bm9 or revolver motor
possible 4ws(you guys can decide that)

basing it off of this rig. I know there has been a 2.2 version and a larger version, but I found that out too late.

All comments welcome. I am not going for perfect scale, mostly just design. I kind of want to do 4ws. Dont know if the real one has it but some of the rock racers do. I plan on a near full interior and maybe a couple of surprises

There are 2 truck builds based off this same design, but since no 2 truck builds are ever the same, it should be interesting to watch this build progress, and see the personal touches you'll be adding.
Looks great so far
I'm definitely going to be watching this build thread.

thanks for the compliments fellas.

I like how this skid turned out. I just should have dyed the material black before bending it...:-(

I got to go to my lil girls soccer game Saturday. I may be able to do something late that afternoon. If you bring your wife or gf we can all go out to eat.

My lil truck is showing potential. I, however, am not. I bought the wrong size allthread. Gotta go to the hobbyshop too. more updates later this evening...

Looks great Stacy!

Love the 1:1 and yours is looking great too!

The BM6 will be a great motor for it. Where are you going to put the motor and reduction unit?

Got it to a roller stage. Gonna sleeve the allthread with aluminum tube. Got the steering figured out too. That was a bia. Thanks Chip. Mounted up some shocks for looks but waiting on the real ones to come in. These are way to stiff. I am hoping the ride height is pretty much lower links level with some softer springs.

The gd600 was bigger than I thought. I might have to make a tranny or bend some tube in the rear different. I definately want an interior, but space is at a premium in a rig this small. I got to slow down a little. Waiting on parts and if I try to do anything else it will just be temporary.

Wow that thing looks amazing. Have you given any thought to using smaller shocks? The VMG had some aluminum ones that look like real coilovers a while back just a tad bit shorter than the TLTs.

I ordered some gpm shocks that were supposed to be 90mm but my invoice says 100mm. We will see. I thought about turning down a set of tlt shocks and using them, but in my experience, tlt shocks dont cut the mustard.

I only mounted those shocks to get it rolling and check steering linkage issues.

still waiting on:
battery
lights
mamba 25
TCS BM6 motor
Seat(s)
Rock Stompers to come out

I will probably fiddle with making the tranny tomorrow and braze on some nuts for panels. Man I hate doing that....
