Default Another looong Chevy. Update: Action pics

There's a buildthread over at scale4x4, but thought I'll share some pics here too.

As you'll notice - this rig is very much inspired by Obijuan's awsome build( I hope he does'nt mind !!), with a few personal touches.

It's not done by far, but here's a "few" images of the result so far.

That's it - so far....Thanx for watching.

damn!! now that is some awsome work bro!!! is that styrene that you used for the tailgate hinges? i was thinking of using brass tubing(if i can find some that small) and a paper clip as the pins. i haven't found any styrene where i am at. can't wait to see the rest of this awesome build

That looks great... Can't believe I missed the build up on Scale. I really like the fan behind the grill that's a nice touch right there.

wow, i must say. those mirrors! i love em!! and those trail docs look wicked sick on there, im waiting for Mike (onespeeder) to get tired of them and let me have em lol. a little heads up, you are definately gonna need to beef up that cab splice. if you plan on wheeling it like i do, its gonna take some hits. its also nice you started off with new bodies, the glue doesnt like to stick to paint that well. oh and is that fan functional? lol cool touch. i really want to see how this thing wheels, i built mine for utility more than looks but i tried to get the basics down. your styrene abilities are without a doubt slick.
i have an interior working right now and i hope you wont outdo me on that either!! youre already well ahead!! the truck looks awesome, what do you have planned for a paint scheme?

Good job on the body, it looks sweet. What are you going to do for taillights and paint? Keep up the awesome build.

Thanx obijuan. Your rig has been the main source of inspiration for this one. Glad you like it

I love the Trail Docs!

I will prolly wimp out, and not wheel it the way you do. I've already put a lot of thought and hours into this.....and I'm a long way from done.
As of now - The future for this build includes a trailer (open or closed), and the role as a crawler hauler with "offroad capabilities"

Appriciate the heads up, but the cab already has styrene support across the splices, and when I get going on the interior, the roof lining also will add strength.

Paint scheme?? It IS painted !! LOL.. Not easy to sort out the color, but it's a nice light beige. Will give it another cote and add clear. Then do the doorhandles, black around the windows, and all the other details.

Here with a piece of styrene as accentcolor

Out of styrene!!
Two square pcs of styrene(for each side) drilled a 3mm hole in one, and a 2,5mm hole in the other. cut and dremeled a curved hinge piece outta styrene, and drilled a 3,5mm hole in the larger end.

Glued the two pieces to the underside with the 2,5mm hole closest to the panel. Let it cure overnight. Taped the hood in position - put the curved piece in position between the two pieces......And put a M3 screw thru all 3 pcs. The screw goes freely thru the 3mm hole, and the 3.5mm hole in the hinge, and self tappes in the 2,5mm hole.
When everything was lined up....glued the hinge to the hood.

Does that make any sence at all ???
(beeing Norwegian, I really stretched my english vocabulary here)

You could read all that bla bla...or figure it out from this
