Here is something I have been waiting to photograph. I have had these babies tucked away until I got some studio equipment for my camera. Well, this is a start of things to come for me with photography. Tonight I shot a few pictures and thought I would share them with you all. No build threads here people, these are BOTH handcrafted by the MASTER himself. I recieved them in a nice larger then normal metal container. Cracked open the case and the smell of good chemicals was in the air. The first handling of these was overwhelming. I had to just stare. All you guys who have assembled the body kits I commend you. No one picture will ever behold the power of holding one or two in your hands! The body * 1/10 scale * Measurements: length 420 mm, width 179 mm, wheelbase 257 mm * Complete higth approx. 180 mm * Very detailed * handcrafted of epoxy resin with fibre glass * Very solid – materialthickness up to approx. 5 mm at the roof pillars * Bodyweigth approx. 600 g * Parts like mirrors, bumpers, door openers and front mask made of Biresin, bolted * Jeep and Cherokee signs and license plates photo-etched metal parts * Every body numbered consecutively The chassis * Frame made of solid Aluminium 15 x 6 mm * Framewidth 75 mm, Framelength 370 mm * Stainless steel screws * Motor Igarashi 5-pole, 13.000 upm at 7,2 V * Motor-pre-gearbox 11:1, steel gearwheels * Very compact fulmetal 2-speed transfer case, 1. gear 6,87:1 / 2. gear 2,06:1. steel shafts, all ball bearings, steel gearwheels, no differenzial * Driveshafts with 10 mm hardened steel joints in industrial quality, massive brass shafts * Stainless steel coil springs * Long arms for a wide rolling radius of the axles and a good flexing suspension * Front axle without differential, all ball bearings, 5 mm steel shafts and 10 mm hardened steel joints – extra heavy duty. * Rear axle without differential and one-piece 5 mm steel shaft * Wheels (HPI) plastic 26 x 52 mm * Tires (Tamiya) BfGooodrich Mud Terrain 30 x 88 mm * 190 g weight of lead (Rings) in every tire for excellent traction * Every chassis numbered consecutively Very low gear reduction! Reduction on wheels: 1st gear: 1:219 / for exact driving with very high torque in difficult situations. 2nd gear: 1:66 / for mud terrains or other situations, when more wheelspeed is needed. The RC components * Steering servo Hitec HS 5645MG Digital with Metallgear, all ball bearings, Torque approx. 10 kg, for powerful steering in difficult terrain * Shift servo Hitec HS-81 Micro * Speed control GM Purple SX3R or V4R+ with same full power forwards and backwards, shifting from forwards to backwards at once without interruption very sensitiv controlling, many programmable features for brake and throttle – perfekt to use in our model * Mini antenna for use inside the body * Batterie 7,2 V, 3000 mAh, NiMh * Radio 3-channel, 40Mhz FM, 2 proportional channels, 1 shift channel for the transfer case * Transmitter batteries 2950 mAh, NiMh * Mini Charger (230V / 50 Hz) with connectings for transmitter and driving batterie, charging at same time possible Last edited by freetimecrawler; 12-16-2007 at 02:16 AM. |

One to run, one for show? I couldn't bring myself to actually run one of those. The detail is amazing. I've never seen one totally finished with all the accessories.

IF I run either one it will be the Red one. I have driven the red one around the house so far. I think for my money to stay in hand I won't be pushing my luck outside. Any one wanting to hate me for shelfing it can shell out their cash and trash it. Mine are going to stay picture perfect for as long as I can help it. As for lights...Stefan didn't have it as an option so no lights. Remember kids there is WAY more then ANY picture shows for work and detail in these little monsters. Seriously, the jaw dropping "in hand" sight is overwhelming. Ryan |

I still think they should have leafs in the rear like a real XJ, just to make it that much more scale. Very sweet though - I would love to own one, but can't see myself spending that much at one time.

| Ryan.... Now those are a awesome addition to your extensive collection. You are truly the toy master. Will we be seeing the red one at Taylors Falls? If so I can't wait get a close look. The photos are really nice to. Can I bring the Grandkids over for some quick shots? I did the whole message in green the color of envy. Enjoy and Happy Holidays....Storm |
