Default Truckler 1.9 rock racer

The chassis started out being a Huster but I wanted to make it a little shorter to fit an 11" wheel base so I cut the front and rear off and removed 3/4" out of the front and 5/8" out of the rear.

Sam and Dean then took the loose pieces and started mocking them up to the cab and somehow (I think the retarded one) placed the rear upside down and said "damn that looks good". So Dean re-welded it up with the rear upside down making the new "Truckler" (Copyright © 2007, patent pending, all rights reserved).

It will have:
Axial axles with RCP AX10 black anodized straight axle adaptors
R2 2 speed tranny
Holmes Hobbies Cobalt Puller 10T
Rock Crusher X/T 1.9 Tires mounted on MSD beadlocks

OG Hustler (for reference)

Very cool. What shocks are you going to use? I'm surprised how nice everything fit back together.

I'm probably going to need to run some pretty short shocks in the rear. Dean has some nice super short shocks that I want to try and if they shorter shocks don't work I might have to add rear upper shock mounts.

It went back together really good. We shortened it up to fit the 1.9 look better. Had to do some minior tweaking but not much. I might have to get/mod one for myself.

Very interesting John. 1.9 rockracers seem to be the rage. I don't know if I could do that to my hustler, you got some huevos.

I've been toying around with the idea of making this rig a dual purpose crawler & rock racer since I am digging the looks of this chassis more and more.

I mounted the Holmes Hobbies Cobalt Puller 5T motor on a R2 2 Speed tranny.

Then I installed the tranny & motor into the Truckler chassis. This combo just about fills up the entire cab section below the windows.

I've been building it up as a crawler for now since I am waiting on some mini inferno shocks for the rock racer setup.

I bought some Traxxas Jato 58mm camber links to get the 11" wheelbase and also because it's a stout 4mm rod and beefy rod ends to take the abuse during rock racing.

I used the axial upper 3 link connector (AX80015) on the Axial Axles with 3mm threaded rod and Traxxas rod ends to mock up the upper link lengths.

The pinion angle was changing throughout the suspension cycle so to fix that I had to drill new upper link mount holes lower the chassis.

I mounted up some TLT shocks filled with 80wt oil, the rear upper shock mount is only temporary. With these shocks the ride height is right at 2".

With the upper link mounts being lower and the Cobat motor being about 1 foot in length I had to tweak the links a little to clear the motor. Keep in mind this is only for mock up and I know the bends are not even.

Not to bad of flex with the TLT shocks and all droop setup.

I can't this weekend. I still need to make a custom axle mounted servo mount since there is no room at all on top of the axle and I am also going to be up at the Delta this weekend to check on my boat after these last storms.

Bad ass man. That thing is looking good. Even for you. So does that motor have twice the torque because it is two motors bolted up end to end? That thing is truly long. Do you think I could just bolt a cockpit to the top of it and it would meet the 2008 chassis specs?

By the way, it is called a "Truckler", not Truckster. You don't hear me calling Dean's Chinese reproduction "Hastler" (based on the original Hustler) a Hastster do you? By the way, I can't wait till the first production units of the "Mini-vanster" followed by the "Prius-ster".
