| Poison Spyder "Bruiser" Build # 2
Its been awhile since I built my first PSC Wrangler.. So Here is the beginning of "Bruiser"# 2. This chassis set-up will pretty much be the same as the last ( ALL bolt together) but I want to make a few improvements to this one where I was having a few issues with the last. For those that don't know, basically what we have here is a Montana Scale Designs BB-51 chassis, which has been modified by removing the rear 4" of the frame, and then all the rest of the custom Aluminum tubing gets bent up into shape, drilled, filed, tapped, countersunk, and installed..!!!! If this was to be welded together, I could build one of these in a few days, but because of ALL the LABOR involved in the steps described above, this might take a month or so do complete... Anyways..., Onto the progress pics so far.......... I am shooting for a Clone of the Blue truck with this build... |

Ill be watching for sure, what things are you looking to improve on this one? Is it going to use the same running gear and everything?

You must own stock in taps because I'd go through at least a half dozen building something like this or you're really good at it. Is this where my axles will end up? |

First off, you're crazy! I don't even have the patience to finish mine and it's all brazed together. You've got some mad skills making it all bolt together. I'm extremely impressed with your work. |

LMAO..., NOPE- all the aluminum rods you see are all custom bent to whatever size i need at the time during the build.. Other than the actual MSD - BB-51 stock chassis, there are no other "off the shelf" parts used on the chassis. | |||

Hey Guys, got a little more done this morning... ( actually got ALOT done, but it dosen't really look like much...) I bent the main 2 rollcage bars to shape.. ( literally like 6 custom bends per rod, then drill the bottoms out, tap each hole, then file the bottom clean.. THEN remove the lower bar ( rock slider) that its being mounted too, to mark the holes, drill, and also countersink that..!! Then, re-assemble everything, and check for it being 90 degrees square with the rest of the chassis.....) Basically, a lot of extra BULL$**T to do to have it come out "right" For those that missed the build-up on the First one ( Blue) the build thread is right here in the 2.2" Section, under " Custom Poision Spyder "Bruiser" Build" Teaser pic......." Triplets" LOL..!!!!!!!!! |
