Well now that the Scale Nat's is done it is time to build another rig for next year. I won this chassis from Unimoger that he donated for the Zach Auction. I have been trying to figure what to build with it. I was going to use it for the sweet scale soft top that I won at the 1st Scale Nats from Mocrawler. But decided Unimoger's new chassis is more for that build. Well I got the idea from 51WILLYSJEEP so I pm'ed him and asked permission to make my own copy from what he built. I will be brazing mine up instead of drilling and taping. So her is my start with the BB-51 Chassis I will be getting brakeline tomorrow and start the tube work. My axles are on pre-order right now for the new rc4wd plastic t-rex 60's. |

Picked up some brake line on the way home and tried to get some work done. Well this the first time brazed nuts to the end of the tubes. I had a few slow downs trying to do this. Wasting some tube and had some bends wrong and had to re bend. I'm going to to get a wire feed welder so I can tack before I Braze it together tomorrow plus I need some more standard type nuts to be able to braze to them. Here is what I got done tonight. Yes just one side piece but had a little learning curve also during that time. |

Well started today taking the main hoops off the chassis and cutting them down 3/4" then brazed them back on. Then worked on the back half of the tube work. Last edited by Red Rockcrawler; 05-25-2008 at 09:21 PM. |

Wife and the little one went to the in laws. So after I got the yard work done I did some more work. I'm going to redo the stinger after I see how the hood fits on it. The cab is pretty well complete just need to add some side bars. |

The axles showed up today. So time for me to get back to work on this. I'm looking at changing the king pin screw to button heads and the diff cover screws also to button heads. They stick to far out. |
