Carefull with that tranny as a T Case, Chino63's 6x6 has that setup and he has gone through a few sets of gears and the case is extremely stressed.

Thanks for the awesome comments guys!

inlovewithaccelerating, i will probably bust all three gears in the first test. where can i get some metal gears? i'm sure someone makes a set of steel gears. If not, I will go back to my original plan of using the axe trans in a comp truck and switch to an alternate plan of making my own t-case.

well my truck is really scale with the wheels and tires. at 1/6th scale, the rims are actually too small but thats fine with me. they are 13.2" to scale but the tires are a nice 33" which is the usual size for people to run on rangers and explorers.

Work for the next few days is bend the chassis rail 3/4" rectangular tubing for chassis rails. hand it off to my friend for cutting. use the extra few feet to add cross braces. I also need to bend my leafs out of my super secret material. Then I have to make long travel shackles...after that, bumper. after that? scale details you wouldnt have ever thought about. I build small scale RC trucks so i think of these things. it will get light weathering but will mostly get it from driving...

Updates later.

tcscrawlers.com sells a set of aluminum gears for the AX10 tranny, I run them in my comp rig

I believe they are made by Hot Racing

better act quick, they pulled the ranger off of KBToys. you might have to settle for the lowdetail NIKKO version. its black. you dont want the black one. you want the blue one.
