Default 71 Blazer trail rig

I have been wanting to build a true scaleish rig for a while now but I could not justify buying all the parts seperate. I started looking for a project rig.

What I bought is a scaler project from jgb7038 here on the forum. What I got is high lift frame rails, shock mounts ,leaf springs, custom tig welded tube frame, axial axles, axial trans, axial straight axle adapters, losi claws, and alum bead locks w/weights.

My plan for the truck is to just get it running to see if I like the leaf sprung truck and frame and then go back and clean it up and detail it after I work the bugs out.

I had a TQ3 and I just got a Mamba Max from Mike Poulson here on the forum.

I have done some work to the truck. Installed the trans and drive shafts, built a servo mount/ battery plate. I also got a bunch of hardware and mounted the shocks.

The truck has exactly no flex. A ton of axle wrap but no flex. The axles do not have lockers in them yet, but after I put them in I will start on the flex and axle wrap.

Thank you for the kind words guys. jgb7038 you did a great job with the cage and frame work. The other stuff is easy.

I got lockers for it from Youngblood today and did a little work on the axles to get rid of most of the axle wrap.

It is fun to drive now with the lockers in it. It is like driving a 80's mud truck. (big tires no flex)

I learned some things today. 1st thing Finish welding on the truck and then do the interior. Second thing was that a 27 turn motor with a 12 t pinion is not fast enough to make me giggle but not slow enough to crawl. I think I will put the 55 turn motor back in with a 18t pinion and see how I like it.

Front bumper.

Rear bumper.

Shortened 2 MIP shafts for the truck.

Is this bad?

Looking good!! I like those body styles. One question are you going to keep the attenae where its at? I would think something like a buggy whip would look really good, even hang a flag off it too.

It will have a antenna some where. I might put it through the fender like stock or move it to the rear of the truck like a CB antenna. Not sure yet.

I just won another Scrambler body on Ebay. I might have to do it?

I want to get all of the bugs worked out before I do that. But I am sure it will happen.
