Default Bronco pro comp Build-

Rebuilding my crawler from a maxx crawler to a 2.2. I'm going with a Bronco pro comp something buggy. Still don't know what their called.
But I'm going with a tuber bolted on a chassis, cut off on the rear where the tuber will extend off. Only thing i'm really using from the old truck is the tranny and electronics. The body is an old beat up one, I got a new one right now but I'm thinking of just copying this one. Heres a link of a 1:1 video, has a cool Bronco in it, it's blue....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8xEiC...e=channel_page

Getting the design of the chassis firgured out.

already had the tuber figured out, still getting around to brazing (I just need flux)(notice the tape)

I did a little bit more stuff. I was making some braces out of plexi glass which sucks! Plexi glass is hard to cut and drill, it smells when you cut it, it melts and messes everything up, and it looks like poop. But I painted mine (now it looks like delrin). I was making a center skid and when I was almost done it broke from a small crack in it, pissed me off. I also got some Harris flux off ebay, so I can start brazing right (knock on wood). I also made the tubing that comes out for the rock sliders/tuber.

The battery fits real nice up there, my venom battery is even heavier too.

This is the skid plate that broke.

The links I had leftover seem like they'll be around the right size. short in the front long in the rear.

Heres my work space. Tell me wat you think. Alls I got to work with for tools is a dremel, jigsaw, hacksaw and drill. Nothing fancy. A mini mill would be nice. I do have the shed to go out and use the vice and jigsaw in, and paint in there too.

Made an electronic tray out of some thick plastic. Everything is nice and low. but didn't get much done lately. I made an esc mount too.

I was wondering where people get raw peices of nylon for their builds . I need some to make a tranny mount and maybe replace the plexi glass braces.

Try http://www.smallparts.com/

They have plastics. I did a quick look and they have delrin - which would work better than nylon. I did see nylon but only in 3/8 inch thickness. And it was not cheap. They also had high density polyethylene which would work well. It's durable and slippery. But it can be soft so tapping it could be a problem. I would use delrin.

Quick comment - i like what you are doing. I especially like the electronics try. I'm building a regign kit and I'm about in the same stage. Was looking for a way to mount the electronics. Dropping the tray is an excellent way to go. I have plenty of clearance with axles and it lowers the CG. Good job! Thanks for the help.

Alright thanks. Today I started working on a winch. Uses three gears and motor from a mg995. I got the gears in working posistion, still got to cut in out and make more stuff. Something cool to mess with though.

I just got my 3racing wheels in today. They seem pretty nice. I put the hammers on them and they seem tough to pull bead out but when you do it slips right back easily . The tires that came with them arn't bad. their large and soft and sticky. I'm selling them though to make some money lol. Their on ebay if anybody wants them ($25).

Comes in a fancy box

The lug nut cover is actually a big nut, which seems a little weird, but it won't move anywhere

I really like them, they look great and I haven't had any problems with them yet. The hold on the bead is a little weird but it seems to be strong enough. Their super cheap too. On ebay their coming from Japan now so their about $50 shipped for the wheel/tire set, mine were $55 and came from CA. I just deanodized them and this what I got now.

Lol I kno. it's slowly coming along. Though I succeeded at brazing yesterday! Yea if I had the right flux in the first place it would have been so easy. So I'm starting on the tuber.

All I got since it was getting dark. But what i need to do is start from the middle and work out. It'd be alot easier

I also got an ax10 axle for $38 shipped off ebay, so I can mock it up and stuff then I'll get another one lol.
