Thanks for the welcome. I will post pics of my progress. I was kind of leery of posting pics of my rig, cuz there are so many nice rigs here. Don't really know how mine will turn out, but i want to try to be different. Kind of hard when I pick a Jeep too. The motor is a 55t speed controller is a rooster crawler body is a niko Rubicon, I think (it was given to me by neighbor) I run a 4 ch remote I also have 4 wheel steering too. Thought about a dig setup but I really like the 4 wheel steering might still do it and keep the steering. anyway... Thanks again |

Thanks I plan on adding a little more cross bars. I am trying to figure out how to do some rock sliders and windshield bar The way I did the roll bar does not give much or any protection to it at all. Plus if you notice the frame is a little long and don't know if I can bring myself to cut it or if I can fab something into it To hide it or use it. I am thinking the front winch mounted up will fix the front plus I have a plan for the front I think Jj |

did you get your sliders figured out yet? if you didnt let me know, mighty mouse hooked me up with a set that are pretty easy to make up and dont cost much at all. based on your roll bar i dont think it will be hard for you to figure out

Yea I think I have some ideas. First thing I need to work on is getting the body down lower. i am not happy with the way it sits right now. I have added a little more to the roll cage. I haven't post pics cuz a couple bars are crooked and need to be straighten. Maybe I will later. Right now I need to get more 3/16 brake line to start with the exo cage (I guess that is what you call it) I plan to run it from the frame all the way around front to back over the fenders. Have to make some bumpers, figure out how to mount the body better then the way it is... There is allot to do just been planning in my head how too, and playing, broke two front drive shafts this weekend, and striped the rear-stear servo. It was fairly new I believe it is a hitech 645mg high torque. it works well. Thanks for the reply. |

| Little update http://i725.photobucket.com/albums/w...0419091920.jpg I just have the stinger sitting there, not sure if I like the size... http://i725.photobucket.com/albums/w...0419091830.jpg made this battery box/body mount http://i725.photobucket.com/albums/w...0419091855.jpg on the truck http://i725.photobucket.com/albums/w...0419091856.jpg turned out good can't see through anymore http://i725.photobucket.com/albums/w...19091921-1.jpg not sure how to mount and tie in this but it should work I am trying out a new shock setup, they are drooped with 3.75 spring to give it a little ride, but at the same time raised the ride height I got the body to sit closer to the frame as I can. http://i725.photobucket.com/albums/w...0419091927.jpg Made these for the windshield, what yo think keep it or loose it? anyway here is how it sits right now. What you Think? http://i725.photobucket.com/albums/w...0419091919.jpg Thanks for looking Jj |

Just a little update. It has been awhile. I made a front and rear bumper. Mounted 3racing winch. Just been really messing around with different suspension setups. I am running droop with a external soft spring in the front, and full droop in the rear. Here is a link to some updated pictures. http://picasaweb.google.com/jwolf76j...eat=directlink let me know if link does not work. Trying something new. I am really not happy with the center of gravity on a side crawl. I have some wieght in the wheels allready and that helped. I have everything mounted as low as I can, like the batterys. Been thinking on going to lipo to reduce size and weight. Its breaking point or roll over point on a side crawl is about 55-60 deg. I could post a pic later. Maybe a shot with the lid off will help you see. Makes me think that with a roof rack or something more on top would only make it worse. Any thoughts... or tricks.... I search this forum alot and read alot... maybe I missed something... Anyway Thanks for the reply, Jj | |

Good start, have you thought about getting rid of all that shiny green anodizing? might look better black or silver/polished.
