| My First scale build
Actually I'm shooting for a decent go anwhere trail truck. Always loved the Bronco's so Thats where I'm heading. Yea I know, nothing new. I've never made a build thread so bear with me here lol. I made my chassis tonight out of 3/16 alum. Was going to use 1/8th but 3/16 was all that was available at the time. I have most of the parts to complete this build minus some screws and steel driveshaft outputs . Here's what I'm looking at Home made chassis based off k2 Wheely King axles masher 2k's m3 compound axial black chrome beadlocks axial trans waterproof xl5 waterproof 2075 servo Trinity 27t Green machine motor w/10 tooth pinion Home made skid Home made links out of 3/16 brakeline and axial ends 6 channel radio Future mods will be driver and recarro seats and hand made interior stuff. I just want to get the basics done first so I can drive it lol On with a pic! pic is decieving the plates are identical Inspiration for this build came from here x trail "Tough truck" Last edited by addictedtonitro; 05-23-2009 at 09:50 PM. |

I did get the skid cut out and drilled for the axial trans last night. I also cut the end plates but only got 1 installed. I cut the electronics plates out too but 1 broke when drilling so I have to go get more cutting boards lol Just mocked up for now. When done it will all be Painted black and have black button head hardware |

Looks great I helped a friend a while back make pretty much a replica of that chassis. Great job on the cut outs especially for not having any specialty equipment. Whats the idea with the huge hole drilled on the shock mounts? Lightness, style or do you have plans to insert a rod through there to support the shocks. |

The center cut out was the hardest to do. Had a hard time getting it even and smooth. All in all....I need a mill lol | |
