| R2j Kustoms TJ Scaler/Tuber....first build thread
I've been working on this Jeep tuber for a while, when I had time, so decided to do a scaler build thread on it. I'll be offering these chassis in my line-up. And also variations of it too. - 3/16" solid rod tube chassis - TLT axles - R2 Trans - Rovers - Proline wheels - Rooster - R2j Kustoms delrin links - HPI Body - R2j prototype aluminum seats Hope you like the build. Should update daily! |

Like them! Sanded and smoothed out the ribs, then painted them with Krylon X-Metals purple. Too bad their just going to get scratched. |

Looks pretty good! Love the "Low profile" look, if you want to call it that. Looks like it will have a better center of gravity than a timberwolf |

| Got the paint on today! Needs one more coat. Made the rear panel patterns and the rear gate. Can't decide whether to make them out of aluminum or lexan. I'm leaning towards the lexan sides and a aluminum tailgate. Also need to pick up the new body and get the paint on it. I was looking at the rear axle and thought it looked funny with the four link plate, so now I'm going to fab up a truss for front and rear. Then move the steering servo up into the chassis. Take away from the scale look being down on the axle. I start getting it put together Sunday. Here's pic of the paint. |

Worked on the interior today. Made it up out of some aluminum. Getting closer! Floor, firewall and electronics plate installed. Bed all fabbed up. Bed installed Trans tunnel Installed Electronics and servo placement. Going to try it with servo on chassis. One of the seat buckets, I'll finish them off with some foam and fabric. Roller again. Next I'll start working on the servo mount, getting the seats finished and installed, dash, steering wheel, switches, trans mount and drive shafts. |
