I have started re-doing my j/k after an incident wheeling When I tore it down to add new stainless axle C's I noticed my frame was severly warped. No pic of the damage but here the old frame. I decided to try brazing one to make it alot stronger I've spent alot of time on this so far and this is what i've got. I've shrotened the belly and went over to a double triangulated 4-link instead of a single triangulated setup. I also leaned the front shocks backward some to try and increase the front suspension movement. Before the front was too stiff. Its still in testing stages but the suspension seems to work well. I already know i've got to add more bracing to the stinger as the truck is heavy and a few hits on the nose have bent is backwards, even with the fender bars. The two bars that protect the grille are also in the way rubbing the tires and will have to be changed since I have some 2.2 crushers on the way. Onto the pics. Feedback requested. I need to know what should be changed before I grind it all down for some truck-bed coating. Again, give me your input. Good or bad. I'll post a few more of the chassis when I tear it down to fix change a few things and prep for paint. |
