Thumbs up Caged FJ-40 build

I plan on attending the Montana Scale Nats this year, so need to build a more realistic 2.2 scaler. My 1.9 is pretty much ready.

Homebuilt chassis, coils up front, leafs in rear and the old Proline FJ-40 body off my T-Maxx...haha! I'm going to cut the front and back off the body and throw the rest away. Full cage.
Axial axles and trans....unless I come up with other axles before then.

Looking good! I just did a FJ40 build as well but I used the X-Trail chassis.

Keep us posted!

Iam going to keep my eye on your build, looks interesting. I have been thinking about cutting the top off of mine or cutting it at the rear of the cab and make a truggy type rig out of it. I think it would be hard to make a good looking rear cab to match to shape of the FJ-40 body. And the rear of cab would be pretty far back on the frame, making the tube work off the back pretty short. Check out FJ-40 .com for some interesting photos.

Looks like an interesting build, I'll be keeping an eye on this one for sure

www.ih8mud.com is another good resource for pics and ideas, I've spent some time over there...

We don't have a great RC section yet, but we're working on it.

I'm thinking hard about cutting my FJ-40 body to fit over my ProLine tuber body. Can't go back once I cut it.

If I could find an FJ55 body to match my 1:1 I'd be all about building a scaler.

Looks pretty sweet. Guess I'm gonna have to try my hand at a home built tube chassis.

Kyosho front shocks added, made some "lawnmower" leafs out back and started making interior.

Thanks fellas....
I plan on doing some interior work this week, and maybe, just maybe, install some electrics in it so I can do some trial runs this weekend.
