Default newbie with a jk

So after cracking my FJ Crusier body in the same spot twice, my wife got me a New Bright Jeep JK. So far i love the detail of the body.

Specs
Tenkin fxr
Traxxas 20t motor
Spectrum reciver
Axial beadlocks
Flatirons

Here's the fj (rip)

Now onto the build pics of the JK
rolling chassie shots

now with the body resting on top of the frame

I picked up one of these bodies too, still trying to decide what direction I'll be going with the build.

thanks guys, I'm trying to mount the body now. I would like to do a hinge in the rear, with reversed body post in the front.

I really like that idea. Is it a pita to remove? My batteries dont last that long so I end up changeing them like three times out on the trail. So I'm looking for a quick & easy removal

Really easy actually. 3 body clips hold it on from the bottom.
I set mine up with the whole rear section of the chassis free for battery space. That way i can fit all the way up to a 5000mah pack on it.
I run a 2200 mah lipo and get over an hour run time now.

So after a long mental process I finally got the body on a working hinge.
This is just a mock up, and I need to bring the front tires back and make mounts for the front. I will be doing that tomm. but for now here's some pics.

I will get better pics of the hinge assembly tomm.

I am planning on painting it in spring when its a little warmer out. Plus this will give me time to choose a color.

Default updates

So since my last post, I changed a few things up. I started by ordering a full lipo set-up, batts., bec and charger, and a 35t to handle the 3s lipo.

so all additions are,

3000mah 3s lipo
castle bec
hpi saturn 35t motor
satin chrome axial beadlocks.

also did some cutting for roll cage and sliders to go with the bumper. the bumper is ugly but its strong.

on to the pics

Thanks for looking comments are greatly appricated.

I kinda like the front bumper, especially if your going to put a winch on it. Love the JK look.

It kind of looks like the rear tires need to be moved back a little bit... Looks good though I have envy of the JK body... I want one
