I've been recently working on the bumpers.

I finished up a few details and replaced the shifter rod. I ordered a Spektrum DX5e and it should be here on Tuesday. In the meantime, I'll address the empty holes in the bed and sleeper.

This rod should be much stronger than the previous one.

Here I shot the truck in a curve. You can see that the tires don't fold over as much as they used to. The truck is so heavy that the Trail Doctors and foams can't support it. That's why I cut out and inserted some foam core.

Here are a few more action shots from the other day.

Unbolting the shocks really helped loosen up the front end.

Where did you find that, or is there another vehicle that fits? I need two of them to get my trucks back together.

Thanks in advance for any help.

It's from Bruiserbuilder.com

I rebuilt the front bumper so it looks more clean. Now there aren't those silly looking tabs that hang down.

Here's a quick write up on how I narrowed the axles. I thought it would be a good thing to show. This is a new set I bought.

I made them a little better than the Bruiser's.

I started with the knuckles by trimming the bearing support down to allow an external bearing to be used and the pin drive hole present.

Here's the assembled knuckle with bearing sleeve to hold the stub axle tightly.

I then glued it together for better structural integrity.

I then addressed the knuckle slop by using heat shrink tubing to fill the gaps. Acts like a rubber bushing.

Front axle finished.

Time to start on the rear. These are nice axles, they're fully ball raced.

First, I chopped off the outer bolt holes in order to recess the pin holes. (I didn't realize until I was finished that I didn't need to take that much off. I was for the most part copying my previous method that required I use 5mm spacers.) Oh well, no harm done, I can always use a sleeve to cover it up.

Then, I cut the axle collar to fit. You'll be using the bearing support piece.

Here's the narrowed axle case with the stock axle.

I then hand-marked the point to drill the hole for the pins. I don't recommend using this method, I suggest you use a measuring tool.

Holes were drilled with a drill press.

Other than cutting the rear axle to length and threading it. These are the finished products.
