|  TTC Quagmire Chevy
We had our TTC comp this past weekend and i had to build a 2.2 version of Mike Neibuhr's Quagmire Chevy from the 1998 Top Truck Challenge.  Specs Proline 80 Chevy longbed 2.2 PL beadlock 2.2 RC4WD Mud Slingers 2.2 Wheely King Mud Thrashers TLT front axle King Hauler rear axle Pede Transmission 70mm rear & 90mm front Yeah Racing shocks   Stuffed a four link and shocks inbetween the rear tires.  Cut out and bent the frame, rear section is only 1.5" wide.  stripped the front ring&pinion but had a blast at TTC    Last edited by kona_joe; 05-03-2010 at 12:06 PM. Reason: add pic of the 1:1 |

That is pretty frickin' neat looking! I don't imagine you get a lot of flex out of the rear suspension before the tires hit the shocks, do you? |

Thanks Daryl i cant wait for the next one. I changed the rear shock/lower link mounts around a bit but there still isnt a lot of rear suspension travel. The truck still needs more work... a winch and some detailing etc. |

Very cool! With the difference in the tire dia., you are under driving the front ring and pinion versus the rear.......? So Rear is doing more work, front is being pushed a little to make up the difference? Is that why you think the front diff went or other? |

You picked what has to be one of the most bad ass chevy trucks in the fu*kinf world. I had forgotten about it. The is perfect truck for inspiration. Do you have the video of that TTC comp?Thanks again Evan |

Close to the same size, and a better compound for some added rear traction. Awesome looking rig all the same. | |

bluechevytuber, I ended up in last place... didnt get to run the Mini Rubicon or Tank Trap due to the lack of 4wd. SlickRockSpider, I agree... also one of my all time favorite Chevy rigs. Nate08, Mashers are not a bad idea, but i'm kinda partial to the look of the Wheely King tires stuffed under the body. I may have a solution figured out. Swap the rear axle out to a narrowed Axial or WK and run the 36/14 2.57 gears and the stock TLT front axle 2.66 5.4" x 2.57:1 / 4.8" = 2.89:1 so the stock 2.66:1 = 8% overdriven  Last edited by kona_joe; 05-05-2010 at 08:51 AM. |

That thing is sweet but it looks more like a sled pull truck than a ttc truck but its way cool none the less and if you just cut the side walls of the mashers they would fit on the wk rim so you have the height of the mashers but the look of them being stuffed under the body...what do you think?

Well i took your advice Nate08 and picked up a pair of PL Mashers today. Closer in height to the RC4WD boggers  Still looks pretty good   |

The truck was a lot better. The PL Mashers are a big improvement over the WK tires especially on the rocks. Gate 5 was a narrow climb with a left hand uphill turn on a wet rock covered with moss.  I just need to get used to driving with the XL5 speedo now. |
