| Project - JK Brute
I haven't put up a build in a long time so I figured I would start another one. This is based off of Project Teal Brute http://www.fourwheeler.com/projectbu...tro/index.html which was one of my favorite 1:1 builds ever done. It is not exactly the same, only based on it. It is using the popular jk body, hacked up of course, and I plan on adding trex 60s, a much more realistic interior, and as much detail as possible. I will probably take a while to build this, but I will post up progress as I go. On to the pics. Day 1 First I attack the roof. That was the initial cutting, I later cut alot more off to make it fit, I forgot to take a pic of that though. On to the body and fitment. Not a bad start I think. Stay tuned, more to come. |

I got some more body work done. Here she is with the top all glued up. Then I had a couple changes to my original idea. It just wouldn't look right if the bed was connected to the cab, so off it came, and it just would look right with out tube fenders, so off with the stock ones too. I will make a cab back out of styrene to match the top profile. Then box the bed to make it match the 1:1 better. I have the feeling I may end up making the whole bed out of styrene however. Anyway till next update. |

Dremel. I thought about using the thread method, but that takes forever, and was not really needed. I am somewhat of a master with the dremel in my own eyes anyway, so why not. After each cut I use the dremel with a drum sander to get the cuts clean, then files to finish it up. Glueing is a combination of CA, plastic epoxy, and gorilla glue. I will add tenax when I add in styrene to the mix.

You can use normal sewing thread too. Just search for thread cutting. I use a combination of cutting wheels, other high speed cutters, and for some parts my band saw. The dremel deffinately takes some practice since you can make big mistakes very quickly.

| The Brute I saw one of those Brute JK on the speed network on a show call "Dangerous Drives" and it was a bad ass ride to say the least. Can't wait to see your finished build. |

Heh I know what you mean. I followed that Jeep project all the way to it's current state. I loved it when it was still a tj. Anyway I promised more pics so here ya go. I removed all the mold lines, cleaned up my cuts, made a back wall with most of it's bracing and got the first filler coat on. I will probably cut the wheel opening larger since I plan on running a rediculous wheel tire combo. Anyway on to the pics. Now I need to get more styrene since I'm pretty much out from my last big project. I am still debating if I want to make my own bed for it, or try to make the original work. Thanks for looking and stand by for more updates. I'm up all night, so more may get posted tonight. |

Well I had to figure somthing out since I'm waiting for filler to dry. lol Uh oh looks like the band saw got some action. Well you can't have a bare plastic interior that is just no fun. I'm sure this will be a pain in the butt, but it should look cool. Like the shifter knob? It deffinately needed one. Now to find the rest of the crap I need. I think this will be the last update for tonight. Stay tuned for more tomorrow. Thanks for watching. |

Well I had a bit of a setback. I did some strength testing and my bonds were no good for the cab back piece. I am reworking a new design now.
