no reason you can't make an FJ45, but IMO don't create a replica of what someone else built, put your own twist on things

If some built a replica of MY RIG i would be pissed off. Take someone's pride and joy they worked there ass off to get done, then someone else take their idea's and claim it as their's is PURE BS!

Then I must be one of the most hated dudes on here with that mind set...Everyone built chino clones back in the day before the re-release of the Hilux. Dean builds kick ass rigs, so its no surprise that he would want to build a similar truck...

Imitation isn't the best form of flattery?

You can't say he's going to claim anything as his own, starting a public poll about it and all. If someone knew what they were looking at, he couldn't pass it off as his own anyway.

I hate you cuz of all the kick ass rigs you have

I would say if Chino doesnt mind and your not doing it to profit from it then go for it. Along the way you can add your own touches or make it a bit different to your likings. Either way your building it for you so build what you like.

Agreed. Nick you can copy it if you want but I say add your own details and make it similar. Hell, I couldn't make an exact copy even with the original right infront of me.

Also agreed. It's happened before, now a days I don't care anymore. If it makes someone happy to copy something and say they designed it, well, I'm sure someone here on RCC will call them out. I don't have to get involved then. You got my back?

Okay, thats awesome i would be flattered if someone wanted to build a replica of my rig, but "if" and when they started claiming my idea's there's it would conflict an issue. But you do have pretty bad rigs.
