| D-90 "Safari Racer"
Well decided after the last 2 weekends of watching people at competitions with their scalers that I needed to finish one of my projects. What started out as a Honcho and a D-90 body will become my new TTC rig. Specs: 4pk Holmes ESC 30T 4s 1700mah Elite Lipo servo is still undetermined lots of lights a bunch of other crap Here is where I started mock up of it: Then I went a head and painted the base under body silver backed with black and the outside yellow: Today I took it out of hiding since it was completely torn down. Made some new derlin rear links to fix the wheel base alignment of it. I also added my base sliders and made the main mounts for the body. Have a lot left to do along with getting a soft top made for it this week but here it is as a roller: Last edited by ManiacMagoo; 07-25-2010 at 01:35 PM. |

Nice. I am working on one with a hardbody, going topless too as soon as I work up the courage to try the thread cutting method. I used a set of RC4WD Rok Lox on Tango Down wheels and a Gelande kit. I am working on fitting the Axial Flares to fit around the Rok Lox now.

Well been busy working on it just to bad the progress isn't that revealing lol. I got my top frame mig welded out of 1/8" round stock. Got it wrapped for the most part and now just running all the stitching around the frame. Still trying to decide on how to mount it. I have a few ideas. I still have to add the windows, back flap, and a ton more of stitching but so far here is how it is looking: |

Lesson learned sewing a soft top 1. takes forever and 2. sucks horribly if you want to try to make it look right. Updates have been slow because the damn top took longer then I thought to make lol. Hoping to have it done by next weekend since all my parts will be coming over the next week for it. |

Well was hoping to have most of it done by now but almost all the stuff I ordered either came missing stuff or for some reason hasn't been shipped yet even though I ordered early last week so we sit and wait. Thanks on the soft top and only tips I can give out are measure twice cut once and take your sweet time on it. Oh buy plenty of needles. Quote:
Ha I dont have the time to finish mine with school finishing in 5 weeks | |

Redid the wiring in it and thought i waterproofed it good enough. Well I was wrong . Good thing for kids because I wasn't going in after it. luckily the wasn't much water inside but man was it fun. Now to find another way to waterproof it so it don't leak. |
