Default "Sloppy Seconds Jeep TJ"

Most of you know this jeep as ecoli's LowRider TJ that he built for MSD 2010.
TJ low-rider - 2010 Scale Nats Trail rig build
While he was building it I told him that I would be interested in it if he was going to sell it. Well a deal was struck and a couple month's after MSD the Jeep was mine.
For the past few month's I've been putting the jeep through it's paces and tuning it the way I saw fit. I'm so impressed with this Jeep, that I wont be making any major changes, just a few things here and there.

The only real issue I'm having is with the t-case. The grub screw's just don't want to bite in to the t-case output shaft's. Blue or Red locktight didn't help, the grub screw's kept backing off. So my first order of business is to get the damn yoke's to stay on the t-case. I already know what I'm going to do, so let's hope my idea works.
Other then that I think I'll be tackling the body, I'm kinda tired of people saying "is that ecoli's rig". So I'll see what I can do to make it look different.
I'm looking forward to testing out the new Pro-line 2.2 TSL Super Swampers on this build. I'm a huge fan of the 2.2 Rok Lox's and I know what this rig can do with them. I have high hope's for the Pro-line swampers.

Stay tuned for update's.

It really does. Here's a pic of it sitting with my 1.9 TJ. You would think that for a 2.2 rig it would sit much higher.

Well I made some time to tinker with the jeep. As stated above I had problems with the yokes spinning on the t-case output shaft's. No matter what lock tight or grub screw's I used they just wouldn't stay tight. So I took the t-case out from between the frame rails and opened it up. I removed the gears from the shafts and headed towards the drill press. My plan was to drill small dimple's into the output's so the grub screw's would not spin on the shafts. Once that was done, I put everything back together and re-installed the t-case into the Jeep. I did notice that the axial transmission out had seen better day's. I knew I should replace it before it got any worse. Lucky I had a set of 3racing ss transmission outputs handy, although I would have liked to use the DNA solid output's that my lhs has. Oh well once these one's fail I'll replace them with the DNA's.

So now that the set screw's are not backing off and yoke don't spin on the outputs I thought I was in the clear. WRONG, now I keep twisting and snapping the drive shaft from the transmission to the t-case. All because of my little "fix". Time for a metal one.

On a side note, I'm still waiting for my lhs to get the 2.2 pro-line swampers in. I hate playing the waiting game.

Well I do like the 1.9 swampers I have, so I'm sure I'll like the 2.2's.
I may have a hard time taking the Rok Lox's off, they have served me well. Time will tell.

Looking forward to trying them out, now I just have to find time to try them.

I have a feeling you're going to need some stiffer foams for those tires and this rig Justin. They should look really good on there though. At least those beadlocks don't have too many screws to remove and re-install !

Well before I headed down to Houston I started tearing into it again. Upgrading some transmission parts, fixing some driveshaft angles and I'm tossing around an idea to play with the shocks.
Other wise its sitting behind me......and to the left of me.......and to the right of me and some of it is in front of me.

Justin pass up an opportunity to add another Jeep to his collection? That's funny

Maybe in April we'll be able to actually hit the trails and not have to slog through 2 feet of snow

I had to double check that this was the 2.2 section....those tires fit 'just right' on this rig.
