Default Banzai II: TTC FJ

..... BANZAI II

I needed a new 2.2 rig and we are having a local TTC in a few weeks, so I started on this buggy. I actually built this tuber in a smaller version a few years ago: Bonzai Buggy comp tuber

I always wanted a bigger version of that rig. A club member had these scale frames cut out and I wanted to try one. So Banzai II was born!
All of the tube work is brazed to the full length frame rails, and it's based on Scx suspension geometry, 3-link front & 4-link rear.

Specs:
Axial axles & tranny
I may use another tranny for t-case (would make it easy to add dig!)
RC4WD shocks (may get changed)
The wheel/tire combo is gonna get changed also
MIP steel shafts
servo winch
JR 9100 st servo
Novak Goat 21.5 combo

Well onto the pics.

Scx skid

The goods

Mandatory flex shot

More to come soon

Not sure, but the hood was just laying there and everything else was just mocked up.

Well sorry it took so long for an update, but I've been busy learning G & M code and Trig functions.

Enough of that onto the pics

Mmmmm fresh powder coat

Front end ready for fairlead

Close-up of pan hard bar and steering, Hand Bros style

You can see the dummy 3racing winch and where the servo winch is gonna go. Also that I switched to 32P

Roller status! Just gotta hide all these wires somewhere

I have alot of work to do still, but it will be together for the TTC

Very cool. What kind of pc finish is that on there? I like the textured look to it.

I get all my powder from www.absolutepowdercoating.com Fine black texture is the color I used on this frame.

I got a pleasant surprise in the mail yesterday.

EXI Rockers -I love these wheels. I ordered mine with 1" delrin hoops in plain finish, so I could PC them to match.

I love how they look on the rig

Now I'm already for the TTC tomorrow. I just gotta make a spool for the servo winch.

Interior details and rear steer are in the near future

Well I had a great time at the TTC today. I didn't do that well 4th out of 5 drivers, but I am happy with how well the rig performed today. No carnage, just a lil mud and a few minor adjustments that need to be made.

Here are some pics from the TTC:

Truck pull

Mini Rubicon

Tank trap

While out at Toys R us picking up some stocking stuffers I saw this Tech Deck guy and I hoped his head would fit on the Wild Willy driver.

Well....

and he's a perfect fit
