It is time to build another 2.2 scaler. I had a hard time trying to figure out what to build off, I went back to my first 2.2 comp body, the HPI Bronco. Shortly after Warpig posted his EB bronco for sale knowing that I could never afford that work of art ,I put it on myself to build my own. I have to give a lot of credit to Tim he built the Bronco of my dreams and I decided to make it my job to build my own version of it. I started this project a few weeks ago, drawing plans, sketching what I wanted and figuring out where everything will go while still getting the look Im after. I decided to go with a truggy style frame, using an SCX10 for a base, I cut the frame rails right behind the stock skid and brazed on some 3/16" solid rod. Here are some specs: Chassis SCX10/ 3/16 solid rod rear end. Traxxas 5318 lower links in the front with jato rod ends rears and uppers Custom links 8/32 all thread sleeved with brake line jato rod ends Hand bros steering Axial geared transfer case (raceway hobbies) Axial transmission with slipper, custom motor mount Axles: shaved 3 racing housings underdrive gears rear (43/13) RCP spools metal straight axles Axial knuckles and C's Hitec 5990 servo RC4WD ultimate scale shocks (110mm) Castle Creations Mamba Max Pro Hyperion 2100 MAH 4S 25c battery Trinity Monster Maxx 21t 550 can motor Tranny geared 16/78 CAC EZ lock wheels (delrin hub, aluminum ring, with custom spacers) RC4WD 2.2 Rok Lox Team 3 Six seats (Black/Grey) Wheelbase-12.5" Width- currently unknown Here is a Photo of the major inspiration for this build. I'll have photos up soon of my current progress. Thanks for lookin Ty |

Thanks for the enthusiasm. Alright snapped a few photos: The whole chassis is made from solid rod, like most of the tube projects I have done lately, its just a lot easier to work with. Where the chassis is so far. Rocker panel Back Front Its still got a little more to go. I have to put in a brace for the shocks and another for the B pillar as well as figure out some type of mount for the transmission. I picked up 40 of the RCP 3mm threaded welding tabs for this and another project and they work really well and are saving a ton of time. So far there are 24 on the chassis. Here is the transfer case and the axial center gear made by Robinson. The other two gears are Axial top gears. The 3 racing housings I think turned out pretty well, but took a long time just using a hand file. A little mock up with just the axles sitting under it. Still a little bit to go, I have most of the pieces here I just have to get them together and build a dash, interior, radio box, front bumper, servo winch mount, tranny mount, make a windshield and figure out some where for lights. But its coming together. Thanks for looking and party on! Ty | |

Nice work Ty, I am guess you will use a dig? See how you have the rear locked. Did you fish eye all the joints? p.s. the wheels look sweet |

Lookin good girl pants. Can I suggest some more bracing though? The rear section of the cage looks like it might not hold up to much of your driving |

Looking good Ty! You made a lot of progress on those axles since I saw them at the swap meet. They turned out much better then I would have though. Now with these axles and the planes, your going to get me into trouble with my wife! |
