| The "WIDOWMAKER" build
I did some trading with SPYDERWEBCUSTOMS for some stuff I had to get this chassis he built for himself. I loved the way it looked I had to have it so now it is mine. It has a 4dr JK body that is all comped cut for it that is going to look sick when i am all said and done. I have to have this thing done before this weekends event at Novas Ark place. It is going to be a badass 2.2 rig, I am guessing it will be a class 3 rig so correct me if I am wrong. Specs: Axial Axles GD600 trans with a 22t pinion (18t pinion will be 2.5:1 ratio) RC4WD T-case 2.18:1 ratio HPI Savage shocks front and rear Custom one off 2.2 wheels axial offset Proline 2.2 TSL Super Swampers Full enterior Electronics: HH TorqueMaster 30T motor CC Mamba Max CC BEC Hitec 7955TG servo Here is the start of the build, it will be a quick due to the time frame I have to get it done in so I am not taking any orders for paint work right now. |

Got the rear links made up and installed as well as the rear shocks. I am just useing the axial wheels and Rovers until my Proline TSL's come in, no sense in installing tires on my wheels to turn around and take them off again.

Got the front suspension on and it looks good but i need to make some adjustments. I zip tied 5 front coils together to level out the front with the rear and I need to bring the rear in some and clock the front some more so my steering isn't faceing down as much. I can pick up one tire and sit it on top of a 2.2 Rock crusher which is 5.5" tall. Right now the wheelbase sits at 14.25" so I need to make some slight adjusting.

Thanks guys, here are some more pics after the adjustments. It still sits at 14.25" wheelbase, the skid is 3 3/8" and the rest of the belly is 3.75". I am trying to decide if I need to shorten up the wb a bit but it doesn't look all that bad. It is a 4dr Jeep 2.2 scaler so I guess it isn't bad.

Thanks, they are HPI Savage shocks, they were the only ones I could find that would be long enough for this chassis, they measure at 6 3/8" eye to eye, lol.

the back wasn't so bad the front was though. when I had it running the wb was right at 13.25. would do a good job at hill climbs so you should do even better. the last pic of it when I had it |

Made the steering link, had to make it a z-link so when the suspension flexed it wouldn't turn to bad as you would if you had a straight link. Instead of a straight line at an angle just pushing the servo horn when it flexes the z-link cuts that out as if the knuckle were straight across from the servo horn. Just a quick FYI for you guys. |

It's looking good so far bro! Just a suggestion though. Pull the rear in 1/2". It will still have 90 degree departure but will even out the gap to the fender more like the front. |

thats what i was kinda thinking plus it will bring the wb to 13.75". I figured out what I am going to use for driveshafts, the tmaxx shafts will work perfect and will take a beating. So off to the hobby shop to get shafted, lol.

I think you should drop it down. Run it mostly droop. Perform and look better. Good start. Also, skin the doors.
