Default bored with my brando-built f100

all these scale rigs, i cant take it anymore. i found a bin with some old bruiser parts, springs from bruiser and from jugg. tore my f100 apart, got rid of 4link and big shocks. scored some shackles on ebay. and heres the mock-up, ride height is about ok. i used some link mounts and some shims i made for spring perches, rear axle is angled up, im not using rear steer so i dont care, front will be a little trickier, front mounts are just mocked they will most likely change, used some fuel line for bushing in the springs and around shackles to let it flex a little. going to change to a more scale tire, and mabey some rc4wd beadlocks. sorry for the fuzzypics,

nice truck... you should do a coil setup witht the shock next to it. like a real ford truck. although i think some had leafs, but only fullsize trucks.

An F100 from conception through the 1979 models had a radius arm setup up, up front with coil springs. THe rear was a spring over leaf setup with upward facing shackles.

F250 and F350 from conception through 1979 had leaf springs at all 4 corners.

Starting with 1980 all the ford trucks had a teh TTB front suspension. The ranger that replaced the F100 having radius arm/coil setup along with the F150 and Bronco, the F250 on up had leaf springs at all 4 corners but with the TTB front.

thanks for the info, i have only owned f250's and 350's, so ive only seen the leafs, as for the shackles they are not bruiser shackles. they came with some jugg leafs i got on ebay.

I like this truck even better now Looks sweet with leaf springs, and I love the fuel tubing idea in the leafs, I may have to try that on my trekker to see if it will flex better.

not sure how theyer gonna work yet, they have some side to side play, bruiser shackles would most likely work better because they are 1 piece, im gonna run it like this first. i am going to try and get all leafs mounted this weekend, then work on a frame mounted steering servo, get the tranny in build a crossmember/skidplate. mabey some rock sliders.

daycare fell through today, had to take day off, what a shame..... was looking at my rx and speed control, was about to cut some aluminum i had to make another plate but decided to go a diffrent route, theres alot of space between those springs, so why not a gas tank? this is a rough idea of what it will look like, tank will most likely be plastic with a metal skidplate.

I'm not trying to be a dick, but shouldn't the gas tank be on the left, beside the frame rail? Sidesaddle-suicide style? Usually the spot behind the bumper is reserved for the spare tire.

And I'm sure my '73 F-250 had coils up front, because the FPO had put spring jacks in them (those wedges that you turn with a wrench to space your coils further apart and if you leave 'em in there for 10 years like he did your coils look like S-hooks) Whadda ya want for $200
