Default my new project

well recently i've been working on my clod but since it's almost done i thought i'd try something different. this is my first scale rig. i'll be using tlt axles a stampede trany and a chopped clod chassis. i am thinking of using the clod body since i have an extra laying around. any suggestions would be appreciated.

A plastic, clumsily Clod chassis, does it really works?

Looks like a good start to a fun 2.2/trials truck.

I'm actually surprised more people haven't tried using the stock clod chassis for "scale-ish" projects. They're tough, have good mounting locations, and form-fit well with most bodies.

It'll be interesting to see how your project progresses.

even just based on the multiple different suspension mounting point on the clod chassis i think it'll work great and it can withstand tons of abuse. unfortunately i can't get the body any lower. right now it's bolted to the chassis where the body mounts use to be. any suggestions?

Nice rig, 2fknqwk. Love the flat black paint. You have some serious drive line angles goin' on there though!

clodman666, you may want to find a way to mount the tranny in there so the drive shafts are a little closer to horizontal.

And I (personally) think your body hight should be fine. You look like you have it set 1/2"-3/4" lower then 2fknqwk's ride, so I think it shold be pretty decent. And hey, if it looks wack, just put some bigger tires on it to balance out the look!

LOL

Nice job.

Are you planning on using the stock battery mount, or coming up with something else?

well i finally got my tlt-1 the other day and got it built. i decided to go with JB weld for the diffs. i threw in some electronics i had laying around and took it for a run. it's not staying like this for very long.

alright so i did some work finally. i got my axles, shocks, and four links mounted.

all i need to do to finish it is the driveshafts. i was planning on using some stampede shafts but they aren't long enough. does anyone know of any longer driveshafts that will work?

Start off with 3 pede shaft halves. 2 female and 1 male. Spread CA over the first quarter inch (or so) of the male end. Place it in the female end. Let dry and cut the jointed end off the male. now you have a super long pede shaft.
