Man .....at country boy customs we don't buy what we can make..... Just a tip I dot know of you've paid attn to my builds or to the tips I've gave others but if u hack the proline use strips of styrene on the inside with bondene and then after it dries go around it with the e6000 ... The bond is basically bulletproof and u can always ice your seams and no one will ever be able to tell from the outside that is |

I honestly think the Proline body looks more scale than the tamiya, as far as size is concerned. I would just lengthen the rear links and call it good. I know you won't do that, though, because you want to have better ground clearance...................

Well it bugs me that a 1:1 has like a 92 or 93 inch wheelbase. Now I can live having 125" wheel base but the body matches the WB and that's what bugs me. If I hack on it I might be able to get it down where it looks like a rock buggy with bronco panels. I got till Monday to figure it out because the "one of a kind" build is being shipped! So I'll have a tamiya body here until then. I know what I need to do: I need to search for a early bronco 1:1 that has a stretched WB and see how they did the sheet metal? Problem is with the proline if I shorten the back the door panel and hood is still scale to the back so I've got a very lil I can take off. It prolly ain't worth it. I don't want a topless bronco so I need to do somthin. This is awesome though. I have an HPI setting here and I believe is shorter than what I got, then I can have a soft top built for or make my own out of this proline body! |

Mine was the HPI version. Though I had to do a bunch of hacking to fit the 2.2 Lox. Never changed the length though... |

Looks better with the flares. Looks like you could push that rear axle back a tad too.

Steve the 1/4 looks awesome IMO the tuber I'm building now is 1/4 hydro tube and I think it looks way more scale especially on the bumper maybe even 5/16 like you said.. .......build it.... Don't buy it... Lol you know the motto instead of a CNC we do it with CBC (country boy customs) hahaha Team mayhem engineering Scaletrailrunners.com Country boy customs (BUILD IT...DONT BUY IT) |

I agree with 1/4" being more scale on a bumper but I chose 3/16" because I'll put sliders on this and it will be heavy as hell as it is.

Well I don't think it's gonna be 15# lol. I will say this. I seen Duuuuuuudes bronco he had kick ass and it was a 12# if I remember right. So I built one the next week and when we had our comp all I experienced was tires being pushed down hill and duuuuuuude and I conversed about foams and I got some for my roklox. Well long story short I sold it and built a lighter weight one before I could really test it. As of right now I love how a stock honcho can care free go down an off cambEr and kick ass so I will admit I'm scared again bout weight. Shouldn't have to worry with the hammers and there stock foams(hard as hell) but I do have some flatirons on the way!

Today: First thing I done today was extend the rear axle out. MAde it a 12.5 WB rig I also added a bit of weight in the front wheels. This rig loaded ready to crawl weighs 9lbs flat Second thing I did was build a bumper. Simple but looks good and efective! Third I hooked my HH ESC I recieved from J-bird and hit the freekin rocks. All the pictures I took I thought this one was the coolest HOLMES HOLD Shot!! Last edited by Mighty1; 11-21-2011 at 02:36 PM. |

When it get's finished, he'll be happy with it for about a month, then it'll be torn apart and morphed into something else. I love to razz him about it, but honestly I admire his determination to continually try different things to improve each version of it. His rigs are always fun to watch in person. |
