Default KOH Budget Bomb

Well, I finally decided on goign public with a build after a few years watching and learning. This is my second and a half build but the first to be shown in international grounds.

I started with a F150 cab 2.2 truggy as what I originally wanted, a Jeep or Bronco body are nearly impossible to come by in my country. After a while another project (1.9 Jeep) started and the F150 was put aside.

While strolling through Pirate4x4.com, and as the KOH 2012 was approaching, I stumbled across a great looking rig.

I'll try to document the scale down (with a few tweeks) of a very cool KOH buggy. Can you figura out which one it is?

Hope you like it!!

The first step

the F150 truggy chassis (on hold)

Rear axle link mount

Where we're at

Moking up the fuel cell (for the electronics)

Next step: rear suspension.

For now it'll go with just one shock, but the room for a second one is already there!!

And the front suspension goes like this...

And it's a roller!!

This is the transfer case i'll be using. At some point I purchased a nitro Traxxas Slayer tranny. and as it was laying there I figured i could use some of the parts, including the possibility of using the Summit massive shafts.

Not much a killer but more like a "coffin" transfer case!

great start but those are the WORST rock tires. they get good traction on dirt. but it's like driving on ice when you're crawling

Thanks for the note on the tires.
I've been thinking about getting a new set for this build but I don't really know which one to choose

Axial Ripsaw 2.2 - I've seen a few builder using this tires on their rigs.
Axial 2.2 Ripsaw Tires – R35 Compound

RC4WD Rok Lox 2.2 - I figured that these ones are the safe bet!
Rok Lox 2.2 Comp Tires

RC4WD Two Face 2.2 - The 2Face I specially like and are my 1st choice. Love the desert racer look but i'm afraid that, as a crawler tire, they aren't that good.
Two Face 2.2 Offroad Scale Tires

Please ... help!!! really appreciate!

No offense, but is that going to hold up to any kind of bashing? Looks to me like very thin metal, especially on the link truss. Great ideas and fab skills though

Awesome fab skills man!! As far as tires, i would be looking at the PL TSL's or the new 2.2 Iroks. The 2faces look good, but they lack a little in the traction dept. Just my $0.02.

I hate repeating what so many others have said, but that is a sweet truck. Wish I had the skill to try one of my own, just have to wait for you to mass produce them :-)

In order to celebrate the coronation of King Randy in the 2013 KOH, i hereby post a few more shots of my Bomber buggy project, which, as a true crawler... is moving slowly but steady.

Rolling chassis resting and stretching in the couch (chassis not finished yet):

Finished chassis:

On with the interiors:

Hope you like it, more coming soon!!

This chassis looks amazing man. Bomber Chassis' are sick. I love watching the suspension on Slawson's buggy work.
