That big and heavy of a Battery in the back up high is going to play havok on your rig. I know your running out of space but do you have anything smaller? lol Like the new body idea! |

Well the battery is a LiPo not nickle metal or NiCad so it's not that heavy. Yes it's high in the chassis but the whole truck sits so low the top of the battery is almost level with the top of the tire. to me that's still pretty low, plus now that i have the bigger winch and all the electronics up front the balance is actually pretty good. To me the truck "feels" just as it did before so i'm comfortable with it. Yes i do have plenty of smaller batteries but nothing that will hold up to the power requirements of the brushless system under full load. Thanks for the comments though and yes i'm starting to like the new body as well. |

Thanks guys. Here is a small update. i finally got a Castle link from a friend so i updated the ESC and did some adjustments. then i pulled the axles and tranny to see where the water was coming in and packed them with grease to help keep water out and reassembles with all stainless hardware to word off rust. I didn't have button head stainless hardware so on the rear axle i tried countersinking flat head screws into the VP outers. Seemed to work pretty good and smoothed the bottom a bit. Then it was time to attempt to fully waterproof the electronics. I noticed that the blister packaging from the Pro Line Fuel cell kit, fit perfectly in the space under the hood. To seal it up I cut a piece of lexan and glued it in place. *spoiler alert... it didn't work* Then i threw the body back on and took it for another test run. this time i really dunked it! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4aJJWLxS3m4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rzf4...ature=youtu.be |
