Arrow My Rubicon CSC1 Project

My newest scale tlt project:-P

Some of you may have noticed that corey and I did some trading, He got my comp rig, and I got his CSC based jeep.
CSC-1 Buildup! It was a cool truck how it was, but....theres no way in hell was I going to just leave it. I dont think Id ever run a truck that sombody else built, A rc isnt yours unless to build it yourself!

So with that in mind, I ripped every peice apart so I could start off fresh. And here we go.

The CSC1 frame is very nice, but I didnt like the goofy body mount/bars welded to it, so off they went. Also didnt like the tranny/link mount that hanged down, it just kills the look of the frame so thats getting changed. Went throught the complete axles and replaced just about everything. For the body, i'm using the original. Coreys jeep body, but I didnt like how it sat miles above the frame, I cut the winch out, moved it up, then cut the back out. Sits nice and low now.

So thats were I am at now, hopefully this week i'll be able to really get a good amount done, if not the whole truck. The final partslist will be.

TLT axles
CSC-1 frame
Pede tranny
Rc4wd beadlocks
Swamp dawgs
Craptec 645
Winch with steel cable
Tq3
55t lathe
pede sliders
Shocks, need to do something cool, maybe internal springs

Heres a before shot

And then my progress so far. lemme know what you think, open for some ideas too.

its really cool seeing someone mod my frame. it would be nice if that jeep body was actually scale lol. ive never seen a TJ or rubicon that had where the rear "bumper" was down lower than the front... glad to see your making it your own.

ps. i hated the drop down but it was either flex steer or drop down or flex into body haha. cant have it all

Looks good! I can't believe ya cut the sliders off though. I kinda like the way that frame looks with the belly not hanging down. Hmmm... Hey Pete....J/K J/K

I like the chassis much better w/o the sliders as well. I'm not a big fan of them myself.

Looks great! Glad to see it live on. When all the black wears off the fenders let me know, I have a few tricks to fix it up again

I really dont think they were designed as sliders, as they sat above the frame.

the "sliders" were mounted like that per customer request. raising them up like that allows you to get through narrower stuff. this is one of the biggest problems for scale trucks that ive found. on my personal CSC Project Scrambler a CSC1 build!
you can see that the belly pan only hangs down 3/8 of an inch. this is getting changed as soon as i design my custom (time consuming) link mounts

I was talking to Terribleone last night about link mount's. Maybe you can use stock TLT standoff's and bolt them right where the frame starts curving up for bottom link mounts?? Also maybe use a crossbar in between the frame rails for top link mounts??

the custom cross bar is in the works, im trying to keep the frame looking as smooth as possible. which is why the skids dont bolt in from the side.

also i go to great lengths to put everything in the right place and get everything nice and square. which is difficult since everything shifts a tad when you weld it. im working on drilling holes in the frame while its still a straight piece of tube. its the most repeatable way to get the holes in all the right places.

I see, it was just a suggestion, not sure if it will work or not?

it would definitely work! its a good idea that ive pondered. then itll just look like a frame with tlt parts bolted to it not a 1:1 frame. ive already modified what the frame looks like pretty much as far as can to make it look real still to keep some performance. everyone complains that its not perfectly scale lol. if i built a perfectly scale frame. CG would be high, the only way to get flex would be lots of axle droop, which would mean lots of flex steer.

Looks good with the body lowered down like that. Keep up the good work.
