| My FJ-40 Bruiser Project.....Finally !!!!!
Ever since I was a kid I always wanted a Tamiya Bruiser. I can remember going to this little hobby shop in Tucson with my pop and just staring through the front window at the COOLEST RC truck I'd ever seen !!!! It was pricey then and it hasn't gotten any cheaper. About a year ago I scored a smokin deal on a used Bruiser and scooped it up !!! I've been busy with other projects and have slowly aquired the parts needed for the build. A set of aluminum lower shock mounts, sealed bearings, and finally a stainless steel screw set. The original body and trim were sold on E-Bay to help pay for all the extra parts. I bought a couple FJ-40 bodies back when they were in prodution and have been saving this one for just this project. This may take all year to finish. Most should be pretty straight foward, axles, chassis, and such. However, I found a 20+ page instructional on installing bearings and overhauling the 3-speed tranny. I'm even going to make gaskets for the tranny instead of all that goopy silicon. The transmission will be an adventure !!! I'll be sure to post good pics of the process. I may not get to do any work before nationals but I ready !!! |

Is this like the color you are going for? Let me know and I can tell you what I used to mix it Thats if I understood you correctly that you are going for tan.

How does the Bruiser interior fit into the LC body? Will it fit? If it does that is going to be AWESOME. Good luck with the build, looking forward to more progress. MIke |

I never grow tired of Bruiser's. Keep at it and hopefully you will be done sooner than a year. |

Nluvwithxlr8ing that's the tan I'm looking for. I have a Tamiya acrylic that's the perfect color, I'd still like the mix you used just in case. Thanks, Mike | |
