Default DTrail12 C-Channel Scaler build... 'The New Bronco'

So, for the last week or so I've been working on my scale truck.
Originally it started as a mostly stock TLT. Now I'm on my 5th chassis, this time a Scale rig. Here's an old thread on my "Never Done" project (NEVER DONE), and so far it's definatly lived up to its name.
The plan for this one is to use Diaz Design's DTrail12 C-Channel cut Scale Chassis, The same axles from the previous build, and the same Bronco body. Otherwise everything else is virtually new/different.
The first thing I received were the Juggy leafs, and shortly after that the Diaz Designs chassis. So I took a couple quick pics of each side mocked up with the springs from earlier this week.

More pics to come (taken of up-to-date stuff)

Let me know what you think...Enjoy.

Well, it's one of Diaz's Dtrail12 Chassis' that he had cut for a c-channel look. It's 17.25" long, 1/4"x1/2" rails. About 3.25" wide with the spacers inbetween the rails. It's initially set up for a 12" wheelbase.

Here's some more of the work that was done...
Mounted the axles, E-maxx tranny, and driveshafts. Now I know that the driveshafts look like they are at a wicked angle, but there is no binding at all. I was surprised too. I first tried it with a set of Jato shafts in the front with Jato plastic yokes, and there was a bit of a bind. but then I swithed to Pede shafts and steel outdrives, and there's no binding at all. It's very smooth.
Still working on it a bit....

by specs, I meant what you were running with it. I can see it's quite a work in progress, so I'll give it a while and see where it goes from there.

Nice chassis. That E-Maxx Tranny just fits nice and snug in there

Looks nice and clean.

Did a little more work on it... Added the motor (Integy 65t), the shocks, and the steering servo (Hitec 645mg).
I'm not too sure about the steering yet. What you see in the pics are more of a mock up than finished product. It seems to be plenty strong right now and doesn't bind with any of the chassis or suspension durring full side to side movement with suspension movement.
I'm working on adding the rest of the electronics (ie: rx,esc, battery), but I need to make some sort of plate(s)/mount(s) to put this stuff.

I've got one allmost identical to that. Just havn't put it together.
Yours looks great.
Are you going to have it a working two speed?
Diaz steering works good as long as you have an aluminum servo horn.

Why Don't You Flip The Pieces Of Angle That Holds The Tranny
That Would Lower It About A Half Inch Maybe

Is yours a Diaz chassis also?
My plan is to have it a working two speed. I thought that might be fun. I've got plenty of extra servos and two 3 channel remotes just sitting here collecting dust. The one i'm gonna use for this is off my HPI 5B, I switched that to a Spektrum. My idea is the two-speed servo would probably go where the 'other' motor would normally go.

I was just thinking about that, really, after I put the wheels on 'just to see how it looks'. I've got plenty of clearence under there, and if I drop the tranny 1/2" or so, that would help with the driveshaft angles and not affect the center clearence too bad.
But that'll be a bit later as I'm working on a bunch of other stuff for it right now.

Got the plates made for all the electronics. Just have to trim them up, and mount them in place. Pics soon to come...

Yep I have had it for about 3 months as well as 2 other chassis made by him. The only difference is mine isn't the channel style. Everything else is the same.

The plates don't fit on top without modding them a little.

I made three plates/bars to mount my electronics. One up front for the battery, two different widths in the rear for the rx and esc.
I cut them to the right length and then had to trim them down just a hair to get them to slide into the c-channel. They fit just fine and should work out quite well.
