| Mattzilla class 3 JK/ better late than never
I have to say, Lue did a heck of a job on this chassis. I can't say enough about his work. Now this is only my second scale build, so I'm still learning, but very quickly. My next 3 builds this winter will be documented better than this. I didn't plan on a build thread, it never crossed my mind. That'll change. I had this built to run class 3 at the RC4WD event in Pa a few weeks ago but didn't have enough testing time, mainly the suspension, and it was only my first event so I placed 14th. Now that I know what's needed to get through these courses I'll be prepared next time. So the next time you see this it'll be a little different. Even the body,

And keep an eye out for my 1.7 Mattzilla yota build. Nothing crazy, but very clean look.

Great looking rig! Brent Burton's jeep has always been a favorite of mine. Seeing Lue's old school replica and builds like this get me going! Despite the tuning for performance, this rig is HOT! You did a really nice job with the build. Great photos as well. |

| Re: Mattzilla class 3 JK/ better late than never I love that Jeep as well. And I appreciate the praise, coming from you that means alot. Funny thing about my photos, and I have 100's, they're all taken with my phone. But stay tuned, I'm just getting started on this beast.

Thanks for the kind words guys. Like I said, I'm still relatively new in the scale world, but I'm gonna be here for a loooong time!! I have more ideas than time and money on this earth.

| Re: Mattzilla class 3 JK/ better late than never You want crap-beating-out-of do you?? How bout this, its just a start, lost a door at ECSC. It's had some impressive rolls already and its still straight as an arrow.

What do you guys think about a copper body? I was placing my order for some aluminum and noticed some copper sheet cut to size. I'm really liking the idea of doing this and leaving in bare.

It was just an idea. I'll just use aluminum, did it once on a 2dr. Just a little extra length this time. |
