Default Military Tonka - Heavy Hauler.

Hi all, back again after a long forced break.
Having packed all my crawler gear, and household stuff ready for moving house, things have finally got back on track.

During the break, I've been thinking on a new project (not that I really wanted to rob the FJ40 of it's parts, but it's the only crawler I have).

I've been keen to do an old Tonka Half cab, and spent a year and a half hunting for one suitable, $NZ30 and I had one.
I was hunting for a dump truck and found a crane truck instead ... close enough.

Photo's of it, as bought, were lost when last computer $h*t it's self.
Enough talk - pic's:

Centre portion of original chassis removed and trial fitting on new chassis.

Deck top and lower siders on, top all one piece now.

Pose shots, electrics in, but not yet live.

Some more pic's:
The original crane part, just sitting on top.

New chassis rails were made from 10 or 12mm steel box tube, then split.
New wheel base is 13 inches.

Whats under the metal cab part ... a neat little cavity to house electric's for lights.

Have kept this since I was kid, may have been a Tonka New Zealand thing.
I don't recall how I come to get it, guessing my mum sent away for it ???
