These ones: http://m.banggood.com/4X-JX-PDI-6221...p-1031156.html I can't say how they'll hold up to something with some speed that can snap housings or gears, but for a slow crawler they may/should do well. #CamBrady2017 |

Just a suggestion, You might want to try internal droop springs, or limiters and stiffer springs. IMO that's really too much flex and the shocks may allow you to bind up/get stuck in cracks compared to a stiffer suspension. I've been in situations with large rocks like in your pics and I've personally found it better to focus on keeping it stable and predictable on 3 wheels and being able to "float" a tire across the gaps.

I was thinking about trying some heavier oil out. These shocks are the short 90mm Honcho ones. I have a longer set but I'll need to mount them higher up. I'll likely do a tear down and rebuild soon with a larger spur gear to slow it down some, too. I want to make a wider skid to be able to bring the outboard links inboard because they tend to hang up. Any good source for black delrin or teflon? |

I took it out today for about 15 minutes worth of crawling this pile. I ordered a set of shocks for it this morning, too. They should be long enough to reach the original mounting point. |

I mounted the cheap longer shocks and took it out yesterday. It's crawls better, placebo possibly, without carrying a wheel like before. These springs are a little stiffer and I'll change the fluid out when I get a chance. These are, IIRC, GPM rear shocks for a k949. I liked the look of the inboard top mount better. But these clear without touching. It still has crazy flex, bro. Which is a reason for the thicker shock oil. |
