I have done it a few times before

FYI, it did take me 6 hours to make the boxes, prep them, then set the parts, finally pour the silicone, and clean up.

Molds flipped in the boxes, and plastilina clay all cleared out.





Started adding some thickness where I only jad the thickness of lexan. This way I wont need a 3 donor bed, and can attach these bedsides right to the drop bed I have uet to construct. I'll end up cutting the tail light areas out, and using the lexan for lenses over some styrene tail light buckets





All ready to pour the second mold halves. Vasoline'd the first mold half, and super glued in the pour and vent spouts on

Hmm, never thought to do any instructional videos. A little late on these, but maybe for the headlights buckets.

Second half of all three molds poured. Some of the pour and vent spouts broke loose after pouring, so using a little tape to hold them down and in place. I'll be pouring some parts tomorrow night, unless I run out of polyurethane resin.

Molds done, got the driver's side fender poured (currently curing) to see how it comes out beforr I do the other one.

I need some new resin, it's a couple years past its shelf life, so thicker parts bubble up like this, a good place holder for now though. Think I'll try some wheel caps now.

Yeah, its a little heavy, worth it for the look!




This resin has a 10 minute de-mold time, and has proven fairly durable.

Got 2 of the wheel caps cast, have to drill for the outer ring of bolts still

Went ahead and used the rest of the out of date resin to make the other bedside, and then started the drop bed. Then weighed the truck so far, 7lb 8oz







I'm planning on going and getting some new resin at lunchtime tomorrow, that local place I go to is only open 9-4, Monday-Friday.

Very nice work. Surprisingly light weight. What are you using to bond the molded parts to the lexan?

Right now it's just packaging and double sided tape. I'm using the lean pieces to get the width right.

Also debating on trying to make the tailgate functional or not.
