Default .PDF or Blueprints or some sorts of measurements please

very new to this and picked up a clod based rig to have fun with while i build my first rock crawler.

I picked up a TLT kit and today i built my axles, locked them and now im trying to plan out where to take this.

Im pretty sure im looking to make this a scale type rig.. well, not totally scale but something that crawls nice but can still blend into a scale event.

Im looking for some sort of measurements to get me started...

I see some frames completley flat on top with the trans just kinds dropped down on its own set of bracets, and I see and LIKE the one where the tranny drop is bent into the frame..

what im asking for is some sort of start on this thing..

I have the locked stampede tranny and TLT axles... i need driveshafts and links, any input on those would be great.

Any help or direction would be a big help, already running low on funds in this aspect of the hobby so i need to make my own stuff, and prefer it.. also, what size material should i be working with here? Sorry for all the questions but im just anxious to get something going that i built myself

scale i would say take some 1/2 inch square tube and bend ya a chassis to exactly how you need it. cheap and easy.

i second that. thats what i did. make sure and use aluminum tubing though, cuz you'll have to cut it in half some how ( i used a band saw and it was a biatch) use a propane if you have a vice, propane torch and a big *** hammer, ur good to go!

Thanks guys, but what do you mean i'll have to cut it in half some how?

i just went to the local home improovement shop and all closed up. How come whenever i need a car part or get an itch to build something its either a holiday and their closed or its sunday after they close early, lol.

anyhow...

i would like to make this legal for scale events... is there a page with measurements like max wheelbase/width? and should the pede tranny be centered on the chassis?

For the "cutting in half" question, basically bend the square tubing into the side profile shape of the chassis. Usually just arched over the axles with the center section just low enough keep drive shaft pinion angles from binding. Once it's bent into a profile you like, you cut the square tubing in half lengthwise to get two matching stockish frame rails.

sounds like poor planning is the culprit.

believe it or not , I used a hack saw to cut the frame in the picture.
